Big skies, sunsets and 360 degrees of privacy and prairie views. Cozy, comfy and completely remodeled two-bedroom one bath home just 25 minutes from Mankato, 10 minutes to America's Glory Barn (aka JR's Barn) and 20 minutes to wedding/conference venues in Waseca.

All new inside and out with open floor plan from kitchen to dining to living spaces. Squeaky clean private bedrooms and bath, plus a Tempur-Pedic queen mattress in the sleeper sofa. Enjoy the big backyard off the brand-new two-tier deck with no neighbors in sight. Just added in August 2025. Enjoy the sunrise and morning coffee from the deck and sunsets from the great room or hang out in the attached garage for sheltered and casual connections to the vast outdoor spaces.

The Backyard Bar and Grill in Pemberton (6 miles) is a local favorite for food and fun, and the Indian Island Winery hosts live weekend entertainment just 11 miles down quiet country roads. Or take a leisurely drive (or walk) around Mott Lake wildlife area (less than 1 mile) or take in the pastoral views from country lanes along Bull Run Creek just a mile north.

Less than half-hour drive to Mankato, Waseca, Mapleton, Janesville, New Richland, Wells, Waldorf, and St. Clair.

Everything was spotless and thoughtfully prepared — you can tell the host put a lot of care into every detail to make our stay comfortable. Highly recommend!

Cute little spot and basically the only option for Waldorf so it worked. Very clean and well laid out. This location does not have WIFI nor was it mentioned prior to arrival. Pretty challenging trying to work away from home in the middle of no where with no internet.

Perfect place!

Stayed here the night before my wedding with my bridal party and had such a great night! The place was so cute and clean! Then stayed the night of my wedding with my new husband and again it was such a nice way to end the night! Highly recommend staying here if you are in need of somewhere in this area!

Beautifully updated property in the country, surrounded by green cornfields. So peaceful with colorful sunrises and sunsets. Immaculate. Perfectly furnished and stocked.. even including local history info. Ideal spot to get away and breathe in peace and quiet. Very convenient to anything you may need driving 20-30 minutes. We will definitely stay here again.

Quick getaway to the Nations Glory Barn

I stayed here while I was visiting The Nations Glory Barn in Waldorf. It is the coziest little cottage. Loved taking walks around the property too. They keep it very clean and it had everything I needed. The owners were very nice and always got back to me in a timely manner. I would love to stay again sometime! :)

This place was a fantastic little escape to the country for my family and our friends. The space was open and inviting and well stocked with everything we needed for a two night stay. I will say we had to take some extra measures for our two year old to be as least destructive as possible, but then again, is there really any space safe from a chaotic two year old? Regardless, wonderful experience!

Beautiful Well Equipped Farmhouse

What a beautiful home! The hosts have recently remodeled and the home was a stunning mixture of modern farmhouse furniture with beautiful wooden antiques. Very tastefully put together, the house had everything I needed for a peaceful, long term stay. Comfortable bed and couch with great views across the fields of corn with birds chirping and flitting about. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The hosts were very gracious and I will come again!

Welcome! Anne and Scott have recently given the Prairie View Cottage a complete overhaul and we are ready to share it with folks who visit the area. This is our first venture in the short-term rental world, and we hope that you find everything you need and as listed.

Our VRBO is on the farm that has been in our family since 1886. It was my Grandparents' retirement home as they transitioned away from the busy day-to-day chores on the farmyard.

You can enjoy the privacy of wide-open spaces with views in every direction. This is a rural property with opportunities for entertainment in the yard or within a half hour in any direction. Mankato is a 25-minute drive. You can also explore the charming farm landscape that is right in the neighborhood. Wedding venues, wineries and watering holes are also nearby!
