For those seeking a serene escape, the Black Bear Lodge by AvantStay on Lake Norman offers the pinnacle of luxury and relaxation. Situated on mesmerizing Lake Norman in North Carolina, this breathtaking property is designed with an infusion of black bear elements throughout its interior.

Black Bear Lodge brings together the waterfront lake house, the rustic hunting cabin, and the poolside resort! Nestled in a quiet cove, this 7-bedroom, 6.5-bath home can sleep 20+ and comes perfectly planned with all our guest's needs in mind. The lodge also caters to our youngest guests with a full nursery.

Wait until you see the gorgeous lake views from the open-concept living and kitchen area. A large wrap-around porch gives plenty of seating and gathering areas. The main floor has 3 king bedrooms with private bathrooms. There is one bedroom with a twin-over-queen bunk with a common bathroom. Upstairs, discover an open loft area with a futon couch and our Lodge Suite. The suite has a full bathroom, king bed, 2 custom-designed full size cubby beds, and the nursery, which also has a twin bed and still plenty of space to spare.

The open concept living area - kitchen, dining and living areas all in one. The fully stocked kitchen features a drip and K- cup coffee maker to please all coffee enthusiasts. Bring you food and you will never need to leave this fully stocked lodge.

The lake, the pool, your private sandy beach, and the hot tub are all just steps away now. Get ready for swimming day or night, chaise loungers, patio seating, and dinner sizzling on the grill, followed by smores at the firepit.

Your private dock with a large sitting area has excellent views down through the cove while you are watching swimmers, kayaking, paddleboarding, or waiting for your boat to come in. Just in case Mother Nature is not cooperating, spend the day with 14 of your closest friends watching your favorite film or Sunday Football in the luxe movie theater.

- This home allows up to 2 pets for a fee; undisclosed pets brought without AvantStay’s approval may result in a $500 fine per pet.
- Pool heat is available for an additional fee of $250 per day, but must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. Pool heat must be reserved for the entire stay or for a minimum of two days.
- This home also comes with 2 kayaks and 2 oars.
- No events, group gatherings, or parties are allowed at any AvantStay property under any circumstances.
- Indoor fireplaces are not available for guest use.
- Due to natural fluctuations, we’re unable to provide specific water depth information at any given time. The majority of docks in this area are generally suitable for most average-sized pontoons and ski boats. However, since boat drafts can vary, guests are encouraged to refer to Lake Norman nautical charts, GPS systems, and depth maps—and rely on their own knowledge of their vessel’s specifications—to ensure safe navigation.

- The gravel driveway can accommodate up to 8 cars.
- Driveway parking only. No parking is allowed in the grass or on the street.

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.

As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.

IDs will be requested for verification after booking. All bookings over 28 days require a security deposit.
