The listing is not a whole house as indicated. There is a lower unit that was rented out - we were quite surprise when we saw people in the yard and sauna. There were a few cleaning issues. Kitchen quite well stocked and lots of room for a large family.

Amazing place

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this amazing house. We all slept so well and loved the fact that the beach was in walking distance. We rented jet skis and had a blast with that as well. The hot tub was wonderful after a swim in the lake. Overall just a beautiful spot!

Family Vacation

Our host was fantastic! She went above and beyond our expectations :) Beautiful home and lovely private beach. Be sure to ask where the basketball court is for a friendly game :)

Nice New House with Great Lake View

This house felt brand new, was super clean, and in a new community. We loved having two kitchens for each family that was in our group. They had everything we needed to cook meals. Kids loved the play room. Great view of the lake and beach access close by. Lower level could use some fans since there are no AC vents. But wasn’t much of an issue due to the colder temperatures down there. Upstairs AC worked great.

Polyester sheets :(

The view and house itself were lovely, and overall we had a lot of fun as a family, but for the $1700CAD/night, we were shocked that all the sheets were polyester and some of the kitchen utensils were falling apart. Pretty disappointing. We all had restless sleeps because of the low quality sheets, especially downstairs where there is/was no air conditioning. Most of the mattresses drooped in the middle as well.

Overall, the property itself is spacious and nice. The location is great because the lake is down the road. We were with our families and kids and didn't feel cramped. But I do have a few things to note. The communication response time isn't within a timely manner which it should be since they say to msg them if we need anything. The main thing they missed on the listing is that they rent out the main level, which includes the grassy area, to other guests. Therefore, the sauna is also shared, so be aware. It is not specifically pointed out in the listing, and my kids were told to leave by someone when they were hanging out in the grass area, but the listing doesn't mention it's excluded. I did not like this at all, and my concern was not addressed. She said on the listing it says the sauna is for all guests which doesn't really mean anything. There was also loud construction every morning which disturbed our sleep. And there was some "plumbing issue" that came up on their sensor and we were told to not use any water for almost 2 hours on the last night of our stay which was pretty inconvenient when you are travelling with 6 kids. And the bbq stopped working the 2nd day. (but no answer when I msged about it)

Great getaway at the Lake

This stunning property has amazing views of Lake Cowichan from almost all its windows on two levels. Two kitchens, a games room, hot tub and indoor/outdoor flow was perfect for our large multigenerational family. The decor and linens were really lovely and the appliances were new and in great working order. The place was clean but there were a few areas that hadn’t been checked thoroughly- e.g. an old baby bottle was found under one of the beds. We loved that this home was at the end of the road, which gave us a lot of privacy and we weren’t so concerned with through traffic for the kids. There is no yard for the kids but there is a green space area at the lake access an easy 5 minute walk from the house. The house is above a busy road that some cars were speeding down, which is why I rated the location as 4 vs. 5 because it caused a noise issue for our sleeping little ones. I don’t think adults would be as concerned. But this despite these minor issues, this beautiful luxury home with stunning views is really perfect for groups looking for a getaway in Lake Cowichan!!
