We had a wonderful stay. There were a couple of problems that the hosts resolved very quickly. The house was clean, the neighborhood was beautiful, and the directions for check-in/ check-out, use of the house were clear and reasonable. And the price was completely reasonable. Thanks for helping us to have a wonderful weekend!

The A/C was not workng when we arrived on Friday at 4:00 pm. The temperature in Pinehurst that day was 103 degrees! I would think the owner would make sure the A/C was working. The temperature in the two upstairs bedrooms was 91 degrees. The children, ages 4-13, were supposed to sleep up there. The lower level was 77 degrees. Both thermostats were set at 68 degrees. We attempted to call the emergency phone number that was provided in the house notebook, but that turned out to be the PREVIOUS owner who had no responsibility at this point. We called this number because we could not reach the owners; turns out they were in Belize. After several hours we were able to contact the owners at around 6:30 pm and they called an HVAC tech. The tech did not arrive until 8:00 pm and left at 10:00 PM. The HVAC was supposedly fixed but it took all night for the house to cool down. What made it worse was that NEITHER of the ceiling fans in the two first floor bedrooms were working. That was never fixed during our three night stay. The HVAC worked until the next evening when it failed AGAIN. We called the owners again on Sunday morning and they had a HVAC tech come out. He was there for another hour fixing the problem which was finally resolved. I spent over 7 hours of vacation time with my family dealing with this. The biggest problem we have with the owners is not ONCE did they say they were sorry; even in person on Sunday when one came by to check on the A/C. Never again.
