With two charming buildings connected by a shared driveway, our inn features a total of eight cozy rooms and suites, each exuding its own unique character and charm. Welcome to the Inn St. Helena! We invite you to experience the warm and enthusiastic hospitality of our historic inn nestled in the perfect winery location.
Built in 1872, this historic Ambrose Bierce House offers a unique blend of classic charm and modern amenities. This enchanting house features 5 bedrooms; three of these bedrooms boast private bathrooms and all the comforts you could desire. The other two are part of a 2-bedroom suite sharing a Jack-and-Jill style bathroom, ideal for families or groups.

Upon arriving at the house, guests are greeted by a lush front garden, where a majestic redwood tree stands as a serene sentinel, offering shade and beauty. This picturesque setting is perfect for leisurely strolls or simply enjoying the tranquility of nature.

The house also features a spacious parlor for relaxing, a cozy balcony complete with a porch swing and chairs—perfect for enjoying the serene surroundings. Our celebrated dining room is known for its friendly atmosphere and serves a daily breakfast exclusively for guests, as the kitchen is reserved for the innkeeper's use.

Nestled in the heart of Napa Valley, our location is second to none, surrounded by some of the finest wineries, with several within walking distance. Additionally, a couple of the rooms are enhanced by the warm glow of fireplaces, adding to the cozy, welcoming ambiance of the house. Whether you're here to explore the vineyards or simply unwind, Ambrose Bierce House promises a memorable stay.

Our stay was exquisite! The Host, Patrice, was wonderfully kind and hospitable, and made the absolute best breakfasts!!! Her meals were sensational and the location was perfect. We will never ever ever stay anywhere but here. Everything was far beyond our expectations - the historic house, each room with its own bathroom, the breakfasts, communication, cleanliness.. it was all superb! We miss Patrice already!

We were 3 couples and the house was perfect for that. Everyone had their own bath and the kitchen was a good place for breakfast before heading out.

Perfect Stay in St. Helena!

The cottage at Inn St. Helena was perfect for three couples. Each of the three rooms offered en-suite bathrooms. We cooked, laughed and enjoyed the patio. The innkeeper, Petrice, was so thoughtful and made certain that our stay was perfect. The location is an ideal home base for visiting Napa Valley wineries and is within walking distances of downtown St. Helena. We all highly recommend this property

A St. Helena gem

This is a great little cottage for 3 couples visiting wine country. All three bedrooms, each with its own full bath, are nicely appointed and furnished, well stocked, with comfortable beds. The kitchen is small, but has everything you need to prepare any meal. It even is stocked with St. Helena s own coffee, which is very good. Walk a block down Main St. to Model Bakery, or to shop in the many upscale shops available. Sit out on the front porch and enjoy that bottle of wine you just discovered. Patrice, the innkeeper, is such a delight. We would definitely return.

Wonderfully comfortable

The cottage at Inn St Helena is lovely place to stay. The cottage is very roomy with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. It was spotless when we arrived, and the beds were very comfortable. It has a very cozy, quaint vibe, and the location is a short distance from downtown. There is a parking lot and ample on street parking.. I highly recommend it!

Super large and spacious. Separate sitting throughout. Kitchen was well equipped and we had everything possible to cook multiple meals. All the bedrooms had big beds and they were soft and high quality. Communication was superb and we got all we asked for and more. Well done!

Great location and thoughtful amenities

The cottage was well appointed with comfy bedding and large bathrooms, and just about anything else you could need for your home away from home. The location can’t be beat with walking distance to St Helena shops and wonderful restaurants. And the off-street parking was a real boost. We’ll be back.

Perfect location!

We had such a lovely time and The Inn House was perfect for our group of six. After tasting fantastic wines we were able to relax in the house and make a meal to go along with our new finds. The location was perfect for a stroll into town and pop into some of the cute stores. Cheers!

You will love this house!

We loved our stay in St. Helena! The house is in walking distance to many awesome restaurants and stores. The innkeeper is amazing! She is so friendly and welcoming. The house was perfect for our family. All 3 bedrooms have a full bathroom attached. The full kitchen is great and we spent some time sitting around the kitchen table. We ate our breakfast one morning in the outdoor area on a beautiful sunny day! The only downside is that the living room area is small. We would definitely rent this house again if we go to St. Helena with our family!
