Nestled in a secluded cove, the property offers a private dock and fire pit surrounded by a tapestry of changing leaves of the Cherokee National Forest. Enjoy the crisp autumn air from the porches, with breathtaking views of the lake and forest, perfect for relaxing in a swing or rocker as you take in the fall foliage.

Rest, relax and play on Watauga Lake! Enjoy the outdoor living spaces, take in the lake views, and watch the kids play in the quiet cove from the comfort of the deck and porch. At the water, you will find room to fish, sunbathe, swim, or just unwind. Just outside the secluded cove is a large bay away from the main channel, perfect for water activities. Bring your boat and launch at the nearby Little Milligan boat ramp or rent a boat from a local marina and keep it docked in the private boat slip during your stay. At the fire pit, kick back in the Adirondack chairs and roast s'mores, enjoy a picnic, or play some corn hole. Continue the fun after sunset when the string lights illuminate the backyard, dock, and walkway into the evening hours.

Great family trip!

Me and my grown kids just wrapped up a week here, what a great house. Had everything we needed and more! Enjoyed the water toys, the fire pit, swam in the lake every day and even caught a fish. Will be back!

Absolutely Beautiful!

The cabin was exactly as advertised, and the lake access was awesome, including kayak use. We were in the lake every day, multiple times on most days.

Memorable stay with grandsons.

We had a wonderful time enjoying your beautiful cabin with our grandson's. With the bunks upstairs made it fill as it were built for us. The fire pit was a big hit with roasting marshmallows. We travel quite often and have never stayed in a place so well furnished. The memories we made will last a lifetime.. Thank you all.

HONEST REVIEW..the cabin and the surroundings are 100% as advertised. The fire pit in larger than most which we loved! The dock is great to sit and just listen to the quiet! The checkin process was one of the easiest VRBO check ins we have had. We loved it and it was close enough in proximity to our activities made it the best balance for us. Now the not perfect part. Nothing is perfect but that doesnt make it bad. We had a not so small issue which I WILL NOT go into as I firmly believe it isnt the issue that makes a bad review it is how its handled. I reached out and this is where the manager is separated from all other VRBO managers ever!! Within minutes he responded with 3 words...on my way.. thats it, just like that. We talked and i am sure he expected a very upset person. Again, this is what sets this manager and the houses he manages apart. He showed up, listened, immediately fixed what he could, set a plan and stuck to it!! The next morning i again had to reach out, same 3 words. On my way... he was apologetic and did what needed to be done. The remaining days of our vacation there was no need to reach out as all was well. But he did just to make sure. If you have made it this far in my review hopefully you understand that nothing is perfect it is how it is handled. And they 100% handled everything with the best customer service and care EVER! We will be back !!

John, a 26-year U.S. Army combat veteran, brings unmatched reliability, hands-on skills, and a deep love for the outdoors. Canyon Dream is hosted by Watauga Lake Vacations and is a lakefront cabin that boasts an easily accessed private dock directly in front of the home, large decks overlooking the secluded cove and mountain ranges. Unlike many vacation homes on Watauga Lake, this isn't a community access area, it is an exclusive private oasis in a quiet neighborhood. Another great benefit of this property is that it is just a 3-minute drive down a paved road to your large, flat, driveway with ample parking for vehicles and boat trailers. There are no steep drop offs or narrow gravel roads to navigate, and guests won't need a 4-wheel drive or SUV regardless of the weather. Any vehicle can easily access the property, helping to make this a prime, low stress destination. The best way to get around the lake is with a pontoon. If you're in a hurry, we recommend jet skis. If you're driving instead, leave some extra time as the roads follow the lake making for a scenic ride. Bear in mind, the locals are not in a hurry. Boone, NC is 39 minutes away; Johnson City, TN is just 38 minutes, and both are abundant with activities. Elizabethton is just a short 23 minute drive for quick dining, shopping, ice cream etc. In addition to all of the lake activities, guests can also enjoy the Appalachian Trail, Roan Mountain State Park, Sugar Hollow Retreat, a winery, and lots of snow skiing, tubing, and snowboarding options nearby. We provide guests with many local recommendations for activities, food and drink.

Canyon Dream is located off a well maintained 2-lane state highway. The property is just off the paved road and offers a very large parking area with ample room to turn around or park a boat trailer. There is plenty of lighting for the parking area if arriving at the property after dark.
