We totally enjoyed our stay at this property! It was peaceful and quiet but close to anywhere you needed to go. We enjoyed the fire pit on a chilly night and took long walks along the water front. We used the binder with recommendations for restaurants which was very helpful. Overall it was a great weekend trip!

Terrible odor inside that took a full day to dissipate by leaving all the windows open and fans on. Every bit of clothing that entered the home carried the same odor until I got home and washed clothes. Hot water pressure was low and cobwebs were everywhere. Up to check in host was responsive.

The beds were very comfortable and the cottage met our needs very well. The ac in the living room plus brdroom fans kept the bedrooms cool at night to be comfortable

Nicely decorated cozy cottage. Clean, quiet. Beautiful view/location. If youre looking for rustic lake cottage, this one is for you. Only drawback: very tiny window A/C unit, does not keep up or remove humidity, floors got sticky. Cooler weather would be perfect. Bonus that dog could come, too.

This is truly a lake cottage how I remember as a kid. The location is a little bit of a drive from Ludington but nice if you want to be away from the downtown. The cottage was cute and quaint and perfect for our needs. The hosts were responsive to questions

A place to sleep

If you’re ok with “ok” on cleanliness and don’t mind the VERY lived in appearance, this place will do the trick for a place to eat, sleep and take a shower. If you imagine yourself sitting on an adorable little deck overlooking a slice of Lake Hamlin, you may be very disappointed. It is in desperate need of repairs and painting/staining. The furniture was filthy and covered in spider webs and all associated ick. There is a very nasty, moldy slimy mess created by the air conditioner draining that greets you just outside the sliding door and next to the outdoor patio table. It did not look like the deck had even been swept off for weeks. Queen bed is very comfortable but linens are low quality and worn. Several lamp bulbs are burned out along with the refrigerator light and while these issues may seem petty, they contribute to my overall disappointment that this potentially adorable, cozy place is not being well cared for. Unfortunately, there was no inspiration for me to take pictures but I wish I had them to share in this post.

Great experience!

The cottage was very clean and smelled wonderful. Everything was there that you would need for a short stay. Check-in was flawless and communication with the host was great. The host was very accommodating for our arrival time as we were unsure when we would be to Ludington. The cottage sits in a cozy little area. Google maps wanted us to turn on a road that did not exist, so we followed the main road around the corner and there was the cottage. We would stay here again. Great experience!

Not what I expected.

We rented after Memorial Day weekend. The cottage was not exactly ‘overlooking’ the lake and the property was actually not well maintained. Lots of overgrowth. The deck was in need of some upkeep and the flower boxes were full of dead flowers. The inside however was great! Beds were so comfortable! Shower drain had a bit of a sewer smell. We did enjoy the sunset as much as we could see between 2 houses across the street. The cottage sits close to the road, up against a steep hillside. Cupboards were stocked with everything you need to cook. Towels were very nice. I probably wouldn’t book again.
