SUMMER IN THE WHITES
Base yourself here and fan out: hike Franconia or the Flume in the morning, cool off in the Pemi River in the afternoon, and be back on the deck grilling by six. 4 A/C units keep the house comfortable while the kids crash. Dogs are welcome, because the best hiking partner shouldn't stay home! When you don't feel like driving anywhere, town is a ten-minute stroll away.

September–October, this is the launch pad: the Kanc at sunrise before the tour buses, Franconia Notch at gold hour, then home to a warm open-concept kitchen and a table big enough for everyone.
