Salty Cottage is the perfect family home located less than one mile from historic downtown Swansboro and 6 miles from the beach's of Emerald Isle.
Salty cottage is a fully remolded 19th century historic home that was moved from downtown Swansboro to the banks of the
White Oak river.
You'll find the amenities are bountiful from the views of the white oak river through the live oaks off the back deck to the private bricked courtyard for morning coffee located just off your master suite.

Enjoyed our stay. Location is close to Swansboro and short trip to Bear Island. House had everything we needed. Front yard was great for the kids to have water guns and nerf guns. I would stay here again.

Family Funeral

Walter was excellent to deal with. Great customer service and had the house ready for our family prior to the original check in time. We were thankful to stay in such a beautiful place close to our family.

Amazing southern cottage!

We had the best wedding weekend at this gorgeous house. The interior and exterior are stunning and have so much character. The hosts were so accommodating and responded quickly if there were questions. Will definitely be booking again!

We loved our stay at the Salty Oak Cottage! It was beautiful, cozy, clean, and I love the way it was decorated. The beds and furniture are all comfortable and there’s plenty of sleeping space. Sitting out back felt like sitting in the woods and was so peaceful. We appreciated the little touches like coffee pods, snacks, and a charging cord. Wish we could’ve stayed longer, but we will definitely book again when we’re back in town to visit family.

Absolutely charming Swansboro house!

My entire family could not get over how quaint this beautiful Swansboro home was
we enjoyed coffee on the back deck, the proximity to downtown and how the host added little touches for their guests including water, snacks and welcome card. Host was excellent at communication and this was probably our best VRBO experience to date. Checking out was a breeze, we just hated to leave!

Emerald Isle/Swansboro

The 5 of us had a nice stay in this charming home. Beautiful plants, flowers and brick walkway. Had the weather not been so very hot we would have utilized the nice sitting areas outside more, especially quaint at night with the string lights on. The home had nice decor items all around which would make me nervous if I had young children with me. There are a couple steps in one of the bedrooms, which is nice to know if you have older guests who don’t do well with stairs. The smaller bedroom has a mounted tv that is too large and has to be slid over to get into closet or bathroom. My teen enjoyed the whole upstsairs. Kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of space to park in large driveway. Quick drive into Swansboro and to Emerald Isle. We had no problem finding beach parking. Host was very responsive.
