Canal View Cottage 2BR 1BA, Views of Hood Canal & Olympic Mountains

Nestled on a knoll overlooking Hood Canal, this 1940s bungalow is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing holiday and to enjoy the natural beauty of Hood Canal. Boasting views of the canal and the Olympic Mountains, this beautiful cottage is conveniently located in the heart of Union, and is close to Alderbrook Resort and Spa.

THE PLAYHOUSE

This beautiful cottage has two bedrooms and one bathroom. The main bedroom has a Queen bed, while the second bedroom has a twin bunk bed. A sofabed in the living room can accommodate an additional 2 guests. There is a full kitchen and bath, as well as a wonderful outdoor space that overlooks Hood Canal and Chateau Schaffer.

The surrounding yards and vegetation have mature fir trees, as well as a plethora of wildlife. If you're a bird watcher, Great Blue Heron, Bald Eagles, Osprey, Song Sparrows, House Finches, Black-capped Chickadees, Bushtits, Bewick's Wrens and Dark-eyed Juncos can often be seen on-property or nearby. Deer often cross the property early in the morning, or later in the evening.

The front yard is an open lawn with views of Hood Canal and the Olympic Mountains. Light the firepit to enjoy an evening under the moon and stars, while you enjoy dinner or S'Mores!

The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking amenities.

Traveling for business? There is a desk and chair in the Main Bedroom.

There is a full bathroom, which includes walk-in shower and a stackable washer/dryer.

Waterfront access is three miles east at Twanoh State Park or head west to Potlatch State Park. For a rainforest hiking experience, head to Staircase Ranger Station and take a hike in the Olympic National Park. The staircase trail follows the Skokomish River showcasing gentle waterfalls and old growth trees.
Just a mile away is the luxurious Alderbrook Resort & Spa for fine dining or schedule an appointment to pamper yourself at the spa. Join the locals for lunch or dinner at Dos Margaritas in downtown Union or Alderbrook Golf & Yacht Club. Morning coffee, pizza and sandwiches are served at Union Square Deli.

Schedule a round of golf at Alderbrook Golf & Yacht Club. Visit nearby Shelton for disk golf or the Ridge Motorsports Race Course.

If you're up for a slight drive, visit Hunter Farms, located just 6 miles to the west. Here you'll find locally made Olympic Mountain ice cream or Hunter Farms beef, canned/jarred goodies, a delicious selection of seafood and lots of veggies! Be sure to mention you're staying in the cottage to get a special treat! In business since 1889, the Hunter family has brought many wonderful seasonal events to the region, including the annual pumpkin patch, spring greenhouses, and fresh cut Christmas trees (or cut your own in the woods).
