Jay Mountain Retreat - Ski Whiteface - Hikers Paradise

Our beautifully renovated, tastefully furnished, and well-equipped log home is the perfect spot to enjoy and explore the Adirondack High Peaks!

This three-bedroom, two-bathroom home is perfect for families or a small group of friends. On the upper level there is an oversize master bedroom with King bed, an ample second bedroom with Queen bed, and a lovely full bathroom with luxurious shower and copper double sinks. The main floor has an additional bedroom with double bed and full bathroom as well as full kitchen, dining room, and living area.

Relax on the porch, dine on the patio, gather around the fire pit, and enjoy the unspoiled view of Whiteface. - or head out on your Adirondack adventure! We are close to many popular hiking trails from gentle to epic, swimming holes such as the Jay Covered Bridge, and Hardy Road mountain biking. The nearby Ausable River is a premier destination for fly-fishing. Boat rentals are available in Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. Winter guests enjoy world class skiing and snowboarding at Whiteface Mountain, cross country skiing, and ice skating. Attractions and events nearby include High Falls Gorge, John Brown's Farm, Lake Placid Horse Shows, and the Olympic Museum and Olympic Jumping Complex. You can even take a bobsled ride with a professional driver and brakeman! Many dining and shopping options are available in the Village of Lake Placid.

Chalet spacieux et agréable

Site agrĂ©able et trĂšs calme. DifficultĂ© avec le systĂšme de chauffage au dĂ©part. RĂ©glĂ© grĂące Ă  Derrick qui est venu changer les piles du thermostat du haut. Il manquait seulement des coupes Ă  vin et des petits verres pour la cuisine. Tout le reste Ă©tait parfait: Ă©quipements et rangements. Malheureusement le foyer Ă©tait hors d’usage. Le fourneau a besoin d’un bon nettoyage.

This was the perfect cabin to get away!! Amazing view of Whiteface, HUGE backyard, and a nice big porch to enjoy and take it all in(: We had such a peaceful relaxing stay. Very clean cabin. Susan was very nice and personable! She made me feel very comfortable to reach out if I needed to! We will definitely be staying here again!!

Secluded mountain retreat

The house was great- it had everything we needed and fit our family of 5 well (2 kids had to share a bed because there are only 3 beds total but that wasn’t an issue for us). It was extremely peaceful. Note that it was a little treacherous with the snow; we definitely used 4-wheel drive on the last stretch to the house and in the unpaved driveway. Couldn’t find guidelines for checkout online or in any binder so I hope everything was ok. Again, overall we thought it was a wonderful stay and would totally return!

Life in Jay

The home was very nice and clean. We had a great view of Whiteface sunset from the check. Fully stocked as described. Close enough to Whiteface and store in Wilmington had a good selection of food supplies.

Hiking weekend getaway

The house is nicely decorated and very comfortable. The views over Whiteface are incredible. We were appreciative of the window air conditioners due to the heat wave in June. I would have liked to see bigger pots/pans and wine glasses in the kitchen, but we figured it out. Unfortunate issue with an odor in 2nd bedroom, brought on by heat, and ants. Property manager very responsive, but not much they could do.

Winter vacation in the Adirondacks

My husband, son, and I stayed at this property for 5 nights and we absolutely loved it. The accomodations were great, the property was beautiful, and the location was close to lots of attractions. Highly recommend!

Quiet Mountains

Nice stay. House was reasonably clean. The property was peaceful and the night sky was amazing. We were disappointed with the outside areas. Grass had not been mowed for a long time and the porches needes cleaned terribly. Not enjoyably to sit outside when the property was not taken care of.

We had a great visit at the Jay mountain retreat. We had most of our dinners at the house because the backyard setting was so beautiful. Hope to stay again in the future.

Beautiful home and property

This was a perfect getaway for our family! The property was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the porch, watching the sunset and stargazing. The home is very comfortable and inviting, and it's on a peaceful street with easy access to hikes and Lake Placid. We would love to return!

Gorgeous view from fantastic covered porch

Very private no neighbors seen or heard. Very comfortable beautiful home. The porch is so well designed we could enjoy even a rainy evening watching the clouds roll through the moutains. Great sunsets and view of whiteface. Beds are great and bathrooms are fantastic

We loved this place!

This is a very beautiful property with gorgeous views. Very clean. We spent most of our time sitting on the covered deck. The wifi worked just fine for our phones, we did not turn on any of the TVs. The property management is very friendly and responsive. I asked if we could get another frying pan or griddle on a Sunday afternoon and they showed up with one Monday morning. The only minor drawback is that the beds are on the uncomfortable side. My husband and I slept on the King bed and it was pretty squeaky and whenever my husband moved, I moved. We are used to more of a memory foam mattress that doesn't move when your partner moves. My 17 year old and 20 year old slept on the other beds and they both said the beds were just okay. This wouldn't prevent me from renting here again because everything else is so amazing.

Great remote spot near lake placid

Really enjoyed our stay. Off the beaten path, but a short drive (under 30 minutes) to lake placid and great hikes.

Beautiful Cabin Nestled in the Woods

Went up for a ski weekend with my wife and friends. Comfortably slept 5 adults and 2 children with ample space and comfort. Very short drive to Whiteface Mountain and Lake Placid. We went during one of the coldest weekends in years and the house was a bit cold. This was to be expected as it was -20 outside. There is a woodburning stove that does not function, otherwise there is no supplimental heat. I can only see this being a problem in extreme cold but it is something to consider. The property is lovely and scenic with views of Whiteface and other peaks of the Adirondacks. This is a true nature lovers delight. Showers and bathrooms were great and updated. Would stay again!

Perfect Getaway

This place is absolutely amazing! We love the house, love the location, love the gorgeous views. The sunsets over Whiteface Mountain are spectacular. This is my new happy place! Thanks for a great vacation! We will definitely be back!!!

What a wonderful home! The house is lovely, cozy, very clean, and super comfortable,. We loved being surrounded by wilderness, yet close to Keene and Wilmington. The property is gorgeous, with a spectacular view of Whiteface. We will definitely come again!
