Great stay

Aside from lots of stairs, the unit was well laid out, well appointed, and very comfortable. Had a small issue to the Attridge run-off, but management was all over it and issue was solved in a short amount of time.

A fantastic property ideally suited for the winter season.

Fully enjoyed the spacious Chalet but it turned out that most of our summer activities were at least a 30 minute drive away and there was very little to do nearby except for mountain biking.

Hello Nick. Thank you for staying at Mountain Jewel. We are very happy that you loved this deluxe property. We do have lots of people who book at Silver Star who want to use the property for a "base" for exploring Vernon and the local area - as it is only 25 minutes to beaches, golf courses, wineries, the city, etc. The advantage is that it is a very comfortable 10 degrees cooler than the sweltering valley, and the summer rates are significantly lower than comparable properties in the Valley during the summer peak season. Additionally there are lots of activities up at Silver Star if you wanted to relax and enjoy yourself in this mountain environment. Very popular for family reunions, weddings and other events. In addition to mountain biking, there is cross country biking (for those of us who enjoy biking, but not down hill), hiking, strolling through the village, disc golf, kids summer tubing, horse back riding, etc. Our advantage here is that is also only a 25 minute drive via a well maintained residential road to the city, so everything is close by. We do hope you will return again and possibly come in the winter - as it is a true winter wonderland up here. Thanks again for your booking and taking the time to post a review. Much appreciated. Diana and the Silver Star Stays team.

Thanks for leaving a review, Dee. The address and location is correct on VRBO but it would be the way the map shows the property, although there is a fantastic free shuttle from The Ridge to the village and the ski in/out is pretty awesome!

Great chalet and very well maintained. We really enjoyed it. A few suggestions, need to provide adequate garbage bags, dish detergent for dishwasher, paper towels and toilet paper. Lastly timely clearing of driveway so we don't get stuck with the car as we did. Otherwise loved it

Hello Imran, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review - we appreciate it. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and loved Mountain Jewel. Thank you so much for the suggestions and we will definitely address them with house keeping. With all this snow, it was hard to keep up with the clearing of the snow but we completely understand why there may have been trouble. We hope to welcome you back to Silver Star again in the future for some more skiing or biking and hiking in the summer. Thank you, Lindsay and Your Team at Silver Star Stays

The pictures tell the truth. Spacious deluxe accommodations for 12.

Spacious, beautifully finished deluxe home with ample space for 12. Beautiful Douglas Fir doors and trim throughout. Elegant stressed hardwood floors. Beautiful bathrooms. Ski-in and ski out. Driveway cleared each morning. Enormous open plan top floor for eating & visiting with a Hot tub on the balcony. Needs a new barbecue and some more dishes; but otherwise fabulous accommodations.

incredible house in an awesome place

The house was perfect! Lovely spot on an awesome ski hill. The house met and exceeded all expectations. My only feedback would be to better describe how to get home from the mountain. It took us a few days and lots of hikes back up the hill to figure it out... I.e. rather than say take criss-cross home... It should ready take criss-cross to Attride run out, house on the right. The house is at the intersection of Attridge and split decision runs.

Incredible place to stay at Silver Star

The house is stunning and so well presented. Appreciated the abundance of towels and the well equipped kitchen with cupboards full of useful things like spices, plastic wrap and just normal stuff which is so often not in a rental kitchen. Ski in and out worked, although you have to follow a very specific route to get to it, but once you know it, it's real easy. I love literally skiing up to the back door of the house. It is, however, a bit far to walk to the village from the house, which isn't a big deal as driving is pretty close, but just good to know. Gigantic, beautiful living room area. My only preference would be if the big TV was somewhere in that area so that it was easier to all watch TV together. Right now it's placed out of the way around a corner. Otherwise, the place is like a really nice hotel, beautifully maintained and presented. Highly recommended.

This location was truly a treasure in the woods! This well equip location gave my family, friends and I a wonderful break away from the crazy city life. It's fully stocked kitchen as well as large living space as well as plenty of rooms were perfect for children and adults alike. I would highly recommend this location.

Amazing mountain! Amazing accommodations!

First off, Silver star is an excellent mountain with something to offer everyone! This is our favourite mountain to ski. On past trips we usually stay in the smaller accommodations in creekside. But on this trip we were travelling with a larger party and this place was a great find! The kitchen and living space were great for gathering as a group reflecting on the day, playing games, and just having a great time! 8 adults lived comfortably in this unit for the weekend, with plenty of room for more! Ski in/ski out just minutes from the door. There was a small hike up to the ski out, but so small in the grand scheme of things. Would definitely stay here again!

Great spot, really enjoyed our stay. Only problem was our rental van had summer tires and could'nt make it up the road until it was plowed and sanded. We liked skiing Split Decision right to our back door.

Thanks you Brian for booking with us. So glad you loved the vacation home and the ability to ski right to your back door from Split Decision. That's too bad about your rental van. I still can't believe the car rental companies are renting out vehicles with summer tires when it is illegal to drive without winter tires - for the obvious reasons you stated. Thanks also for taking the time to write a 5/5 review. Very much appreciate it. Hope to welcome you back another time either in the summer or the winter.
