Rest, relax, and explore the outdoors at our cozy lodge by the Frederick Watershed. Start your next adventure here!

Basecamp Lodge is built around an original & historic 1800s log cabin. It is designed to be a retreat for outdoor enthusiasts (cyclists, runners, hikers, etc) interested in coming to the area for a little slice of nature.

The property is adjacent to the Frederick Municipal Forest & Watershed with a river/creek running along the edge of the property, a spring & stream in the backyard along the tree line, nearby access to local multi-use trails, and plenty of outdoor entertainment space (decks, patios, etc).

The house has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a full kitchen with attached dining area, laundry room, living room, event room/gathering space, private work spaces, small library area, access to outdoor decks and patio from the house, and a converted garage that serves as a 3-season indoor space with outdoor equipment and a bike work station (coming soon!), as well as a group gathering space.

NOTE: We live next door and often cross through the back section of the property to access the trails. There is also a Hipcamp site at our pull-off area across the street.

Location is very private with lots areas to explore. Endless amount of trails to hike bike etc. Alex even stopped in to make sure we had everything we needed. Frederick has everything you need also as to food entertainment etc just a short distance away. We stayed for a event in Frederick so didn't have enough time to explore the area as much as would of liked. Highly recommend.

We were in Frederick for a wedding and wanted a place we could stay with our family rather than staying in a hotel. Location and value was perfect for what we needed. The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with everything you would need, especially if you forgot anything. Communication with the host was very good. Any questions were immediately answered. My only issue was having to walk thru main bathroom to get to one of the bedrooms, but it worked for the short time we were there.

Lovely spot to sit and relax inside and out. Clean and spacious. Also great spot if you like to get on a trail in the woods. Friendly area. Many pedal bike enthusiasts we saw pedal by as we sat out in the evening. Our host Alex was generous and kind. She provided a welcome hello, let us know she was nearby if needed, but in no way intrusive. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Just far enough out of the city proper, but close enough for a drive in to downtown Frederick to enjoy what it had to offer. A tip. If go into Frederick downtown stop by the visitor center first. Informative and there was 3 hour parking validation for no cost.

The place was a fascinating upgrade from an original log ca bin, still exposed in the interior hallway. Kitchen was stocked well for eatti g in and pantry items snacks and seltzers etc were generously available. Nothing says cozy like karge fluffy towels and bath rugs and once again, generous amenities if we forgot some need. Los of great spaces for enjoying family. We cant wait to come back.
