Fantastic chalet apartment sleeping 8 people with stunning views of Mont Blanc

This fantastic family owned apartment sleeps 7(+1). Features a large open plan living/dining room with kitchen area, 3 bedrooms, 1 double, 1 twin/double, 1 with bunk beds & 2 bathrooms, covering in total 82 m2. Upstairs there is also an attic room which can be used as a further sleeping area with an extra 2 single truckle beds. (It has a very low ceiling!). There are 2 large balconies both with beautiful views of Mont Blanc and the valley below. 1 has been newly decked (summer 2025), perfect for the apres ski glass of wine or beer, whilst enjoying the view down the valley.

The apartment has a ski locker and underground parking space. Chalet des Wengen also boasts a Spa which includes an indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room. A perfect way to relax after a days skiing! This is complimentary to guests in our apartment.

A short 150m walk takes you to the village where there is a variety of shops and restaurants; we really recommend the boulangerie for your morning pastry of choice, baguettes, a variety of sweet treats, particularly the individual tarts either raspberry, chocolate or lemon meringue. The lifts, and ski hire shops are all to hand in the centre of the village.

The nearest chairlift is Plan Bois which is just above the village square, just 5/6 mins walk from the apartment.
The skiing around Les Coches contains some of the most beautiful tree runs in the Alps. From Les Coches you can access any of the La Plagne villages (Plagne Bellacote, Belle Plagne, and Plagne Centre) within 35 mins, via 3-4 lifts. You can also access Les Arcs via the Vanoise express which leaves from just above Les Coches village. You have access to 225km of ski slopes. There is a wide range skiing from beginner, gentle blue runs to challenging black runs, skiing at over 2500 meters on 2 glaciers, 1 in La Plagne, 1 in Les Arcs, to snow parks with jumps and fun slopes.

Summer activities include e-biking and mountain biking, parascending, white water rafting, an array of hiking trails, swimming in the outdoor pool in Montchavin as well as in the lake in the valley, with a 'beach' area, a cafe, Go-Ape trails, bungy jumping, and cycle paths. A day trip to Annecy takes 1hr45 mins, and is well worth the drive.

Just 3km down the road lies Montchavin, a traditional Alpine village, offering a mixture of restaurants and apartments, and also a cinema, set amidst local houses and hay barns. It is easy to reach Montchavin, either on skis, in the telecabine (summer and winter) or via the free ski bus. Montchavin makes a lovely stop for lunch in the middle of a day's skiing. A new indoor/outdoor pool is open in the summer.

Down in the valley, the nearest town is Bourg St Maurice, 16km away, offering a greater selection of shops and supermarkets. During the summer in Bourg there is a wonderful Saturday market, selling local specialities, and produce. For a quick supermarket stop on the way up there’s is a shopping complex just off the N90 at Aime, with an E.Leclerc.

How to get there: Les Coches lies on the border between the two fantastic ski areas of Les Arc and La Plagne.

By Car, it is 930km from Calais, taking approx 9 hours.

By Air, the following airports are within easy reach: Chambery (1hr), Grenoble (2hr), Lyon (2hr), Geneva (2.5hr).

By Train, you can catch the Eurostar to Paris and then catch a train to Bourg St Maurice.

Extra details on the apartment: All bed linen and towels are provided and beds are made up on arrival. We do not supply towels for the swimming pool.

A cot or high chair is available on request, subject to availability, for an extra cost of €50/£45.

There is a communal reception area, Here you can get english newspapers and relax by the open fire, or play pool with friends with free tea and coffee. (The internet reception is stronger here than in the apartment!)

There is a shared washing machine and tumble dryer just by the reception. (Payment €6, by contactless card)

The shared indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and steam room is included in our price, as is the underground parking and all cleaning and bed linen.
