Base Camp with Hot Tub, on main street, Wi-Fi, dog
Summary:
Historic Home on Main Street, Dog Friendly with Hot Tub in Downtown Red Lodge
The Space:
Base Camp @ Crossers Station is the perfect place for visitors looking for a beautiful home in an ideal location. Named for its proximity to everything Red Lodge has to offer, the Base Camp is right on Red Lodgeâs main street with downtown shops and restaurants within walking distance, Rock Creek just one block away, and it is a short drive to the ski hill and Beartooth Highway.
This beautiful, unique home is steeped in history. When the Beartooth Highway officially opened in 1936, Red Lodge businessmen sought to open new restaurants, gas stations, and motels. One of the better-known roadside inns was the âCrosserâs Super Service and Auto Court.â Originally, the property consisted of a gas station called âCrossersâ and across the street was the  âMotor Inn Motel.â While sections of the Motor Inn Motel have been removed, the three buildings on this property, while updated, are the original Motor Inn structures.
Base Camp @ Crossers Station is one of those three original Motor Inn Motel buildings. This cozy 3-bedroom home sleeps a tight knit group of 6 and is ideal for those who want to explore all the town of Red Lodge has to offer, and all within walking distance! The home just blocks away from amazing restaurants and quaint shops that make Red Lodge a âdestination location!â The home has a fully stocked kitchen, one full-bath, living and dining room. There is also an outside patio area with a firepit and grill to enjoy! As a bonus, you can see the Beartooth Mountains from this historic home located on the corner of the main street in Red Lodge!
Base Camp is conveniently located kitty-corner to The Roosevelt Center, Red Lodgeâs vibrant hub for art, culture, performances, receptions, conferences, and community gatherings. With both indoor and outdoor spaces designed for creativity and connection, The Roosevelt Center hosts a variety of events year-round. Stay at Base Camp and be front and center for everything happening at this dynamic venue
If you have more than 6 people in your group and you would like to rent the other unit on the property, the Cornerstone @ Crossers Station is a cozy studio style home that is right next door!! The Cornerstone comfortably sleeps two with a Kitchenette, full bath, patio with firepit, BBQ grill, and a cozy gas fireplace in the living room. Inquire with us for availability and if you would like more information on renting both properties.
The Base Camp @ Crossers Station is 6.9 miles to Red Lodge Mountain.
The Base Camp @ Crossers Station is Dog-Friendly up to 2 dogs
Please note that exterior video cameras are in use to verify noise complaints, confirm number of guests, confirm compliance with quiet hours
Guest Access:
Guest(s) have access to the entire home and all listed amenities. This home does have owner closet, garage and a shed that is off limits to guests. The areas that are off limits are locked.
The Neighborhood:
Red Lodge, nestled in the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains, is a wonderful place to visit if you are looking for family fun, a place to touch the wild, or just a chance to let your hair down. Whether you are wearing Birkenstocks or cowboy boots, you will find something to do here. (Although downtown is paved and we even have sidewalks, Jimmy Choos are probably not a great idea!)
In winter the road ends here. Downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding and sleigh riding are just the short list of activities that you can do when visiting us.
In summer we revel in the Beartooth Pass opening. We are only 68 miles from Yellowstone Park, but plan on a good two hours` drive as the âPassâ is stunning in high mountain vistas, rocky cliffs, and jeweled lakes. The Custer National Forest is a haven for wildlife including elk, moose, mountain goats, big horn sheep, bears (black and grizzly), mountain lions and wolves. Golden marmots are often seen dashing across the trails. Golden and bald eagles often visit our area, as well as sandhill cranes and blue herons.
Getting Around:
Base Camp has off-street parking and street parking. Red Lodge does not have a commercial airport. Guest(s) can fly to area airports and drive to destination. Area airports and approximate distance to Red Lodge: Logan International Airport (BIL) 60 miles, Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) 147 miles, Yellowstone Regional Airport (YRA) 64 miles.
Other Things to Note:
Guest(s) is allowed to have up to two dogs stay at the home during the visit. All dog(s) are required to be current on vaccinations. Guest(s) must clean up after animals and dispose of waste properly. Guest(s) must have a kennel for dogs when in the home and guest is not with the animal. Dogs are not allowed on furniture or beds. A minimum fee of $50.00 will be charged for each pre-approved dog over the two-dog limit. No cats allowed. Unauthorized animals or evidence of an animal on property can result in a minimum fee of $250 and/or your reservation being cancelled without a refund.
The home is equipped with: bedding, pillows, towels, pots & pans, dishes, toilet paper & paper towels, garbage bags, dish soap, dishwasher soap, detergent for washer and propane or charcoal for the type of grill provided. No food or spices will be provided due to health regulations.
We provide a sample amount of soaps, shampoos, and lotion to get you started.
Red Lodge, Montana is a rural community that does offer internet and cell service throughout most geographic areas but, some locations are completely void of any internet or cell service. In town and within a 3-5 mile radius of downtown you will enjoy solid cell signal but during times when our population increases due to events, celebration (such as the Fourth of July), or emergency situations such as a wildfire you will notice that these online and cellular services slow down and sometimes, they can slow down to the point where you have to wait to place a call. We canât do anything to help in these situations, so we encourage people to enjoy the freedom of being âunpluggedâ and to be patient.
Interaction with Guests:
Guest will receive emails and text messages prior to arrival date with directions and lock box code and pre-stay information.
