Meet Your Host 🌲
Welcome to Anita’s Roost, named after my grandmother Anita.
I was born and raised in Coos Bay, Oregon, where I attended Marshfield High School before earning my degree in Business Management and Marketing. Today, I serve in the United States Air Force and live on the island of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, with my daughter Lily, my son Ares, and our cat Leo.
My military service was inspired by my cousin Gary, a fallen American hero, and my grandfather Chet, a World War II pilot. Their dedication to service, family, and hard work helped shape the values I carry with me today.
Real estate, renovations, interior design, and hospitality have been lifelong passions of mine. For more than 20 years, I have enjoyed taking older properties, breathing new life into them, and creating beautiful spaces where people can relax, reconnect, and make lasting memories.
Anita’s Roost holds a special place in my heart. My great-grandfather built this home, and purchasing it allowed me to help support my grandmother’s retirement while preserving an important piece of our family’s history. Last year, my partner Ty and I lovingly completed a full renovation to transform it into the warm and welcoming retreat you see today.
One of my favorite parts of being a host is meeting people from all over the world. Hosting allows my children to experience different cultures, stories, and perspectives while reminding us how connected we all are.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me enjoying home renovations, real estate, investing, travel, camping, rafting, horseback riding, yoga, volunteering, event planning, and spending time with family, friends, and God.
Thank you for staying with us and supporting our family business. We feel truly blessed to share Anita’s Roost with you and hope your stay creates memories that will last a lifetime.
Warmly,
Shannon Kealoha 🦋
