We were in town for a baseball tournament. Cabin was close to town. The kids 11-15 had a ball fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking playing in the sand and swimming! Cabin well stocked with supplies.Definitely would stay again!
Kelli, glad to hear the boys had a great time. Much better than staying in a hotel. You turned a baseball tournament into a mini vacation for them. Have a great summer and your welcome back anytime :)
The property was well taking care of, clean and very spacious. The owners of the property gave you everything you needed for your stay. Would highly recommend to anyone that wants to head north for a family weekend.
So nice to hear that your family enjoyed their stay Charles. Thanks for the positive review. I do try to have available everything my guests could possibly need during their stay. Have a great summer and your welcome back anytime :)
Ahhhhh. Welcome to a lake home with a touch of nostalgia. Our family was welcomed with original cottage walls, nothing over the top, and a comfortable place just to be. The kitchen was well stocked, and we were highly impressed by this. Lake views and toys for the lake are just a bonus! Thank you for the wonderful weekend!
This property has been perfect. The last two years we’ve done our Mommy daughter trip. Very clean and has the perfect lay out! The kids enjoyed swimming while we enjoyed nights on the screened in porch. Also, very close to a downtown area. Having a Walmart right there is very convenient. Michelle, the property owner, he is very nice and easy to get a hold of if you need anything. This place is perfect, and we can’t wait to come back for our third time!
Hello Casey. So nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay so much that it’s been turned into an annual gathering :) Mommy daughter trips are gonna leave the girls with great memories that you will cherish forever. Have a great summer and look forward to having you back next year to continue the tradition!
My family of five had a wonderful time at this quaint little lake house. The house had all that we needed to relax and enjoy the lake. Young and old enjoyed the use of the kayaks. some of us caught a few small fish from the dock. Cooked dinners on the grill and built sandcastles on the beach. We would stay here again, if available.
Stacey, so nice to hear you were able to enjoy all the amenities. Sounds like your family had a relaxing stay! Have a great rest of your summer and your welcome back anytime :)
Our stay at Lake George was a wonderful experience, the house was very clean, well supplied with bedding, towels, kitchen utensils, washer/dryer, etc. Had ample room for our children and grandchildren to visit us for a couple of days and enjoy all that lake life has to offer. There were so many options with all the things provided. We all enjoyed fishing, kayaking, campfires, nightly paddle boat rides on the beautiful, quiet lake. The beach was perfect for 3 grandson's that played for hours in the great sand. Michelle and staff do an awesome job, and we look forward to staying again.
Dawne , so wonderful to hear that your family enjoyed their stay. I appreciate how well you described our property…it is perfect for families with small children and anybody that appreciates quiet lake life :) Thank you for the compliments to all of us that help make our guests experience awesome at Lake George. Your family was a pleasure to host. Have a great rest of your summer and your welcome back anytime.
Great place for golfers. Our group was 8 seniors. The Dream and The Nightmare golf courses are only 10 miles away. Plus other courses in the area. Great place to relax on the lake with some cocktails after golf. We cooked our own meals, kitchen was well stocked. The only thing that could improve this property is having an extra bathroom. 8 geezers with one bathroom in the morning can be challenging. But we overcame and adapted. We will definitely stay there again. Thanks Michele.
Daniel, what a great group of friends you have! I really enjoyed our funny conversations. Glad to hear you guys has a good time :). And ya, the one bathroom…..I have considered putting a porta john in the yard….I may look into that for next year. Have a great rest of your summer and your welcome back anytime.
We had a wonderful stay here! Adults and kids enjoyed the backyard area and the kayaks! A lot of area for sleeping in the house, and TV's in every room with many movie options! The sun room is great and very comfortable! Michele has thought every detail through, including little foot washing stations to limit the sand in the house! One minor detail - which didn't bother us too much since it was too cold to swim early September, but useful for summer visitors. There is a limited clean swimming area by the dock, mostly for kids. If adults want to swim, there is a sand block in the middle of the lake (visible by two poles in the middle of the lake). However, Michele did great by providing many other options for adults to enjoy the lake! Thank you for having us!
Glad to hear that you had a wonderful stay! We have a very large swim in beach which is clean, sandy and very shallow (knee deep) til you get past the end of the swim platform....yes, it is great for small children! The steep drop off for swimming is at the end of the dock. . The Aerial view on the website provides a clear image of my description. Great deep and clean lake for swimming, fishing and water sports!
We had a great time. The house is perfectly setup for a small group to have a fun week. We like to cook and they had everything we could have needed without being cluttered. The kitchen counter is huge and great for meal setup. Everything worked well and the AC was a life saver in the heat. The beach was very nice. The lake was a little on the weedy side but the kids had plenty of room to swim and play. The location is great, 10 min to Meijer, Walmart and Aldi, so no need to buy food before coming. It is well water and has a very slight scent. To be expected in this part of the state but not distracting. We brought bottled water for drinking but it was fine for cooking and showering. The neighbors to the left were a little noisy but nice. Great fireworks from 3-4 spots on the lake. Fishing was good and lots of other wildlife. The lake was very busy on the fourth as expected. The public boat launch is well taken care of and I had room on the dock for my 18ft boat. The house is the best rental we’ve seen in 10 years of mid Michigan vacations. The lake is a solid 7, I like something bigger. The beach on the property is an 8. Overall, a great value and super clean.
Used the home as an overflow place. Worked out great. Perfect for what was needed. Great location. Everything you needed for the long weekend was there.
Thank you Michelle
Had a wonderful stay at this property. Grandkids ages 3-9 loved the swimming, fishing off the dock, and kayaking for the first time. The lake was very peaceful and quiet during the week we were there. The location is perfect, just a few miles from grocery store and resetaurants. Michelle was very accommodating and easy to work with. She always responded quickly to any inquiries I had.
Michele made our stay at the lake a wonderful one! Truly seemed liked she had thought of every detail in preparing the home for guests. The lake was great. We had so much fun kayaking, swimming and exploring the sandbar areas on the lake.
In addition to praising our awesome hostess, Michele, I would like to tell you how four of us girlfriends spend our weekend. I like to read others' reviews to get ideas how to spend time when we travel, so here ya go! We wanted to spend some time in the area to see color and shop in West Branch. The cozy lake house was perfect for us! Nice view of the water and a 6 minute drive to West Branch. Weather could have been better (we really wanted to have a fire in the nice fire pit!). Thursday night we went to a nice little restaurant in West Branch called Buck's Country Cookin'. It was quite good and they served cocktails. Friday we went on the Au Sable River Queen boat for a 2 hour fall color tour. I was surprised there wasn't more color but it was a nice little boat ride just the same ($15 adults, $10 seniors). Friday we slept in, went shopping and was going to go to several wineries. Our first stop was the Modern Craft winery in Au Gres. We bought three cases and didn't have to go anywhere else so we went shopping again. Friday night we went to the casino in Standish. About a 30 minute ride. No restaurants (or even a buffet) so we ate at the cafe. It was pretty expensive for the food we received. Saturday we went to the outlet mall to shop and to Lumberjack's for dinner. The food is always good there. Heading home (south) on Sunday we went through LInwood to visit William's Cheese Factory - this is a must for cheese lovers! Down the road is Frank's Hardward but they have a section with unique gifts. It's worth your stop! We had a great four day trip and as stated previously, Michele is a great hostess and the house is warm and inviting. There was nothing we needed during our stay. It was simply perfect!
We had a lot of fun this week...it was a beautiful lake and the cottage was perfect for our family. It was stocked with everything you would need and there were notes and instructions posted that took the guess work out of everything!! And if I had a question about anything, Michele was very quick to answer. I would definitely recommend this cottage to others, our family had a great time!
Highly recommend this home for a visit to the West Branch area. Home has lots of open space for your group and is close to golf (Nightmare/Dream), wineries (Rose City) and outlet shopping. Best part is the home is extremely clean and well-maintained. Lots of fluffy, white towels and kitchen supplies. Would stay again, absolutely!!
