This beautiful mountain retreat is a well-furnished 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath home with an extra bonus kids' room with a TV and futon. Located close to the North Gate, Wildcat pool, recreation fields, and hiking trails, it’s the perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors. Find sanctuary in the charm of this home, whether you're relaxing in the family room, enjoying a bath, or sipping wine by the fireplace. You'll feel truly at home and at peace during your quiet getaway to Big Canoe.

Living Space
With gorgeous wooded views, the open-plan living space features a cozy stacked stone wood-burning fireplace and plenty of seating options. The dining area and open kitchen can seat 4-6 at the table, 2 at one bar, and 3 at the second bar. The primary bedroom on the main level includes a king bed and TV, with a large shower and tub in the master bath.

Beds & Bathrooms
Upstairs, two bedrooms each with a queen bed share a Jack and Jill bathroom with a shower/tub combination and two vanities. An extra bonus loft kids' room has a futon and TV. Downstairs, a second living room area with a TV, air hockey, and ping pong offers views of nature. There is also a dartboard upstairs. The second primary bedroom on this level (king bed) shares the hall bathroom, which features a beautiful antique sink.

The house is dog-friendly with a fenced backyard. We ask that your dog be kept in a crate at night or if you leave the house.

Great house for family or group

Is a great house and location! Plenty of room - we had 2 in online school and 2 working. 2 more came for the weekend. Close to hiking trails. House very well stocked - great deck. Hope to go back!

Great house, amazing location!

This house is perfect for families or friends who want space. The layout is perfect for a vacation rental, everyone can have their own floor. House was super clean and the trails start a couple of houses down so no need to drive anywhere! There is also a great grocery store 7 min away. Worth the price.

Lots of space and plenty of tools to cook there. Suggestions to make it more enjoyable. Water pressure is a little weak- don’t know if that is fixable. The lights were confusing to figure out and more labels were needed. The automatic lights were appreciated. Loved all the games and the hot tub. Plenty of towels in the bathrooms but only one in the kitchen. The hand soap in the dispensers needs an update. Pink hand soap from public restrooms is harsh and the house was too nice for the cheap soap. The house was clean and the stay was wonderful. Details make a difference! Thank you.

Wonderful!

We had a great family weekend filled with wonderful memories. The 4 bedroom house was perfect for our family. Everyone had their own space! The house was very clean and had everything that we needed. The view from the deck was beautiful with the Fall colors. It was nice being so close to the North Gate. We enjoyed riding around Big Canoe with the beautiful views. The only problem was that we didn't want to leave, but will definitely return!

Great week, even with rain

Property was great. The front steps need to be repaired. Apparently the ground has settled and the steps are sloped down. We arrived on Saturday for a week stay to play golf and hike. It rained Monday thru Thursday even though we did get 18 holes in during that time. Golf courses are beautiful and in excellent condition. Would go back

Family reunion

We enjoyed staying here. The layout of the house was great for us and all the children staying here. The air hockey table was fun and very loud on the main floor. The beds were comfortable! Things that need improvement: landscaping. The yard had a lot of weeds and the holly bushes need to be trimmed back so you don’t run into them on the sidewalk. There was a large hornet nest on the back porch that was hard to get rid of. The owners sent a handy man to spray which was nice, but we ended up having to continue to work on it many times to finally get the hornets gone. That was sad to not be able to use the back porch as much. It is in a great location! Some of us enjoyed the pool one day and others went hiking nearby.

Not Relaxing

I have been renting a house every summer for the past five years and this house by far was extremely disappointing. We were delayed an hour and twenty minutes to check-in . That started it all. While BBQ we had a grill fire due to the grill drip pan not emptied. It was filled with grease. The patio was so small my family could not all fit. The patio furniture that was there was dirty and rusted. Water had very low pressure. Only one person at a time could take a shower. There was not enough table room for all of us to dine together. No outside dining. Needless to say I will not book this house again. At the price they charge it would appear to be much better.

We appreciate our guests and work to provide a wonderful stay for each one. :) This guest brought a large dog to the home without registering it and tried not to pay the pet fee. We suspect the negative review above may be related to this. When the guest arrived the cleaners were leaving, she was invited in and went right in. (One of the cleaning team's husbands was hospitalized which put the team down a member, and they were packing when guest arrived. :) When guest called on the grill her 4th night at the house, the handyman went over to the house. He showed her that the drip pan was 1/4 full and emptied it. The grill was professionally cleaned on 5/28 for the start of the season. (Guest was cooking brats and burger which can flame up but can be settled by closing the lid.) On the water pressure, it is the same as the other 2800 homes in Big Canoe. We continually strive for the best for each guest. :) Please see our other reviews. :)

Room for improvement

House nice, neighborhood gorgeous. My family and I all traveled from different areas to meet here the day after Christmas to spend quality time together. Garage had a strong smell of dog. We kept our bottled water out there so it was noticeable each time we went out to get more. The 2 smaller bedrooms that state “queen bed” honestly were only full sized beds. That being said I don’t believe queens would have fit comfortably since we were cramped already. If the closet doors were unlocked so we could have hung clothes and put our luggage elsewhere that would have helped tremendously. We noticed that the top comforter of our bed had not been washed after finding 2 fresh food stains on it. That’s pretty discouraging given that we were told cleaning was being stepped up due to Covid. We sprayed Lysol on the bedding and folded it down by our feet then used our blankets to cover our upper body. The guest room closest to the bonus room was extremely cold each night with the heat set at 72. Used a heating pad to keep the bed warm for us. Downstairs master bedroom was also cold and thankfully we had a space heater for my nephew and his wife to use in there. Disappointed that we were only provided one roll of paper towels for our 4 day stay; we traveled with 9 adults and an infant. Floors hadn’t been mopped because our socks were dark grey after walking around for a bit. Washcloths new & had never been washed, repelled water, leaving lint behind. Would have washed them ourselves but we were given 4 laundry pods to use between 9 people for 4 days, same thing for the dish washer pods, 4 pods total. We spent a lot of time washing dishes along with running the dishwasher each night. These are just the observations we made. Everyone’s desires are different but we have rented many places and felt that the care given here was subpar. The information book asked that we run the dishwasher, strip the linens from the beds, leave in laundry room, & that the cleaning company would accept any unopened food items?? Tacky. Still enjoyed our visit with family but don’t think this will be on our “let’s go back” list. Drop the fees if you expect your guests to do the cleaning work.

First of all, we are all sorry that you had issues with our house. The two beds are queen size beds. We only supply one roll of toilet paper, four pods of washing machine detergent, and four pods of dishwashing detergent. We apologize that the top comforter had not been washed and will take care of that oversight right away. Our cleaning crew has done an outstanding job of cleaning houses with disinfectants thru this Covid pandemic and I will assure you that the floors were cleaned as were all surfaces in the house. If you had contacted us during your visit we would have been more than happy to send our cleaning crew to the house and take care of any of your issues. That is how we have built such an excellent reputation. We do not have a notice in the house concerning leaving unopened food items. Striping beds and running the dishwasher are very reasonable requests. We could have taken care of any of your issues had you contacted us. Our rates are very reasonable and you selected our least expensive house.
