This home is absolutely beautiful. The views are unmatched. The house is set up well and perfect for a family with children. The birdsong and the sunrises in the morning and the sound of the frogs at night made the trip so relaxing and special. I would stay here again if you want a place to hang out and enjoy the views. It is not close to anything, and the mountain roads (and driving the wrong way) are nerve wracking. (I could have happily stayed and never left, so it depends on what you are vacationing for. )NOTE THAT WHEN YOU BOOK ON VRBO YOU PAY THEM A HIGH FEE and then you will be asked to actually complete the payment for the stay via the management company, Catered To. You can also book direct if you prefer and avoid VRBO as a middle man. I will never forget this place -- the house, the breezes, the views, the birds and the frogs, the peace. If you want a home with all the modern comforts far off the beaten path, this might be perfect.

Overall the property was clean and good condition and well appointed. Communication with the property owner wasn't easy. I sent two direct messages and called and left voice message in order to get directions to check in to property. It's important to note this is a basement underneath someone's home. There is no way to control the temperature without going through the owner. There's a thermostat but I figured out that didn't work. I found the space very cold and without any natural light. Since Communication didn't come easy for the owner, I didn't feel like she would be responsive in changing the thermostat. I used the heater in the room. If you need a decent room in Elko for one night this fits the bill.

Before arrival instructions for entering the property were not given. When I arrived and opened the door, there was already someone in there. He happened to be a fine person, but this situation could have been dangerous for me. It was 9:30 at night and I had to call around to find another place to stay and most hotels were full, it was very stressful. My money was refunded but I feel more should have been done to make this right.

Host checked up on us after we arrived to make sure everything wise it in order for us. Studio was clean and orderly. We had all the amenities that you would expect such as toothpaste, toothbrushes razors, hairdryers in an iron. The bed was comfortable. I would have raited it higher but the steps going to the downstairs studio were very narrow, and there was no handrail. I wouldn’t recommend it for someone with mobility issues. Someone could take a fall very easily.
