Welcome to the Historic Hideaway, a cozy and modernized first-floor apartment in a lovingly restored 100+ year-old home. With its vintage charm, modern amenities, and prime location near downtown Michigan City, this space is perfect for up to 6 guests. Walk to shops, restaurants, parks, and the beach—or relax at home with comfort and style.

🚗 Parking
Free public street parking available on 10th St (same side as house, where not marked with yellow curb). Please note that the driveway next to the property belongs to our neighbor, so we kindly ask that you do not park there.


⚠️ Safety, Accessibility Notes, & House Rules
--Homes are NOT baby-proofed (no outlet covers, no cabinet locks, furniture is not secured to walls, no cribs provided, etc). Guests are responsible for their safety.
--No parties, or events – we value the relationship with our neighbors, and strive to keep the home in top condition.
--🚭 No smoking inside or within 50 ft (violations = $300 cleaning fee)
-- Train tracks nearby: Michigan City is a “quiet zone,” but you may hear crossing bells. Sound machines provided.
--Historic home = funky layout (limited kitchen counters, quirky game room bathroom). Adds to the charm, but worth noting.
--Duplex home = possible sound transfer between upper & lower units.
--Max 6 guests; no extra overnight visitors allowed

Neighborhood is eclectic & transitional – safe but mixed; police station less than 1 mile away


⏰ Check-In / Check-Out
--Check-In: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
--Check-Out: 10:00 AM
--Note: We always try to provide early check-in and late check-out opportunities when possible. (It is simply dependent on whether or not it’s a same day check-in/out, the condition in which the previous guest left the home, and our cleaners’ schedules.) Please notify us if you would like early/late check-in/out, and we will do our best to make it work! 🕚
--Guests will receive key code & detailed check-in instructions via message on the morning of arrival.
--Michigan City operates on Central Standard Time (CST).


🛡️ Booking Requirements
We’re excited to welcome guests from all backgrounds and want to make sure every stay is enjoyable, safe, and comfortable for both you and our neighbors. To help us maintain a great experience, we ask that:
--The primary renter is 25+ with a verified government ID.
--A $500 damage deposit hold is required. This is an authorization hold only (not a charge) and is released at checkout once our team confirms the home is in good condition.

After booking, first-time guests are required to sign a standard rental agreement that reflects the house rules and booking details shown on this listing. Information provided is used solely to coordinate maintenance or schedule adjustments during your stay. This information is kept strictly within our team and is never shared externally.

--Moderate cancellation policy (flexible if dates are rebooked).
--Returning guests and longer stays may qualify for discounts (message us before booking!).
