MEET THE VILLA
Hale 'O Ka La on the Big Island defines Hawaiian luxury. Developed by Laurance S. Rockefeller in the 1960s, Mauna Kea Resort was the Kohala Coast's first luxury destination and remains an icon of island elegance.
This stunning 5,358 sq. ft. estate features a spiral staircase, five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, two half baths, and a private pool. All bedrooms are air-conditioned except the garden room, comfortably accommodating 8â12 guests.
Surrounded by lush tropical greenery, the villa offers seamless indoor-outdoor living. Highlights include a pool, palapa bar, and waterfall grotto spa, all within vibrant, flowering landscapes. As an added benefit, you will enjoy the blissful Hapuna and Mauna Kea waters for ocean dips and activities including surfing, body boarding, SUP, snorkeling, whale watching, and so much more.
LUXURY CONCIERGE EXPERIENCE
Hale 'O Ka La offers full-service concierge which includes scheduling of additional cleaning services, private chefs, personalized massage or yoga experiences as well as activity planning.
The property is close  to world famous beaches, golf, and fine dining. Guests may opt in the Residential Guest Program (Hotel Amenities) to access Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Westin Hapuna Hotel for an additional fee paid directly to Mauna Kea for spa, tennis club, and pool side relaxation.  .
Hale 'O Ka La offers secluded, private accommodations,, about a 45 min drive to Kona, the Four Seasons at Hualalai, Â about 20 min to Waimea town, Â about 40 min to Mauna Kea Observatory and 2 1/2 hours to Volcano National Park.
Inclusions in the listed nightly rate - Enjoy a private chef-prepared meal with a $500 food credit, along with round-trip car service to and from the airport.

Bedroom 2: King bed, ensuite bathroom, and outdoor shower, air conditioning, TV - spiral staircase will take you to the downstairs room with Bedroom 5.
Bedroom 3: King bed, ensuite with shower, private terrace, air conditioning, TV.
Bedroom 4: King bed, ensuite with shower, private terrace, air conditioning, TV.
Bedroom 5: Two Queen day beds, ensuite with spa, lawn access (no A/C), TV - Spiral stair case connects to upstairs Bedroom 2.

~Renovation - Mauna Kea Beach Hotel
The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel began a $180M renovation on April 15. The work is beginning in the Main Tower and access to that area of the hotel including the lobby, marketplace and shops along the Koi Ponds is closed. In addition, the Mauna Kea Golf Course is closed and will reopen in early December. Members and registered Residential Guests will continue to have access to parking (in the main parking lot), beach, pool & fitness centers and select restaurants. And, of course, registration provides access to The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort & Golf Course with all amenities available.
*The property next door is currently under construction. Noise may be heard during regular daytime working hours. We appreciate your understanding as the work is temporary and beyond our control.
* Please note; we can not accept or confirm "Instant Bookings" for our holiday seasons, December 15 - January 7, all years. Please email our Management team for availability and holiday season requirements and/or restrictions.
