Luxury Villa with private pool, lush gardens and direct access to the beach

Hi Jeffery, Thank you for your review. If I may I'd like to respond to the points you raise. On the security point I would emphasize that we have never had a security issue since we bought the house nearly twenty years ago. The QR guidelines in the villa may be a little conservative and it's up to guests if they want to follow them. Although I have to say I and my family do close the electric shutters if we are going to be away from the house for a long time. They are very simple to operate with the touch of a button on each one. We normally just pull over the doors when going to the beach. The house is very centrally located just perhaps 200m from the Praca which is the main area of bars and restaurants in the resort. We find this to be an attraction of the house. There is sound from the Praca in the evenings but the sounds we hear is generally music and a general hubbub of people. Our house is at the end of the terrace and is set further back than our neighbours and gets quite a lot of sound protection from those neighbour’s houses. Our roof terrace is the only place that doesn't have that sound protection but yet is an idyllic place to enjoy your sundowner or evening meal. There is a certain amount of foot traffic passing the garden wall during the day but I suppose that is a consequence of having direct access to the beautiful beach right at our house. I’m sorry that you had these concerns while you were with us. I hope they didn’t spoil the enjoyment of your holiday. Many thanks again for your review, Paul

Hi Diana, thank you for your review. I am so disappointed that you feel this way about our house. We've been renting out the house for over twenty years and have never had a review like this. Let me try and address each point; As a general comment we are at the end of a long season and all the items you mention will be attended to along with some other updates and improvements. The screen and doors need to be lubricated as the salt air causes them to get a little stiff. That will be addressed. Cleaning schedule is everyday bar Sundays and public holidays unless less frequency is requested. Veronica receives great reviews in our visitors book. Unfortunately Rita had Covid during your first week. The bed linen will be replaced over the winter. I'm not sure what was happening with the electricity except there is a trip switch in the hall for emergencies and perhaps this got hit accidentally? The rain must have been extremely heavy for it to come through from the roof terrace. We are replacing the roof terrace this winter and that will solve any leaks. From Nov 1st the local restaurants take turns opening, you should always have 3/4 to choose from in VDL. The estate is also surrounded by many great restaurants which open all year round. Apologies for your less than satisfactory stay but we will act on this review to make 420 as wonderful as it has been for many many years. Paul
