Villa Luana is a peaceful Hawaii Kai retreat with a saltwater pool, jacuzzi, mountain views, and fast fiber WiFi—just 5 minutes from Sandy Beach and close to Hanauma Bay and Waimanalo Beach. Surrounded by lush green mountains with glimpses of the ocean, the home offers a relaxing setting to enjoy the slower rhythm of island life.

The villa combines indoor comfort with open island living. The large kitchen area is adjacent to the main living room, creating a spacious central gathering area for family and friends. The living room features three large sofas and plenty of natural light, making it an inviting space to relax after a day at the beach.

A spiral staircase leads from the main living area to a smaller upstairs living room that opens toward the outdoor lounge and pool deck, creating a natural transition between indoor comfort and outdoor living.

The fully equipped kitchen includes modern appliances and generous counter space, making it easy to prepare anything from a quick breakfast to a full family dinner. Meals can be enjoyed indoors or on the spacious lanai just steps from the pool.

Excellent kitchen with 2 dish washers and 2 refrigerator/freezers. 2 washer and dryers as well. Plenty of staples and linen. Ocean view from several rooms. Great swimming pool

Hawaii Kai Villa

Host still lives in the house even though there is a separate Ohana. Excess stuff scattered around house. Property wasn’t cleaned before arrival. Sliding doors didn’t lock and had chains and padlocks. Landscaping unkept and debris around the pool area. Cat poo in the yard and cats lounging on pool chairs. Oversized king beds took up room space, queen would have sufficed. Areas around the home not maintained and require fixing and/or updating. Toiletries provided and replenished during stay. It’s a nice spacious house, not necessarily luxury, but had the space needed for my family stay.

I do NOT recommend this place at all! The house IS beautifully designed. I would even consider buying it for its unique architecture. But it was old and very poorly managed. The owner does not know how to organize nor decorate the place. Everything was outdated and broken. Water leaked, sliding doors didn't open, lights were out or flickering, showers dripped, and nothing seemed to work properly. The dress-rooms were packed with personal stuff. The house was not luxurious at all. I am sure the pictures are from at least ten years ago during its glorious days owned by someone else. The owner lives in the studio right below the master bedroom and behind the kitchen. He blocked the hallway with a wooden wall but I could hear everything. His family came to visit him from Czech Republic few days after I got there. They were nice and kind but the baby cried very often and I could hear them talk or watch TV. I basically shared the house with another family for the whole month and honestly I hated it. I did not pay 13,000 for a share-house. Also there was a communication problem with the owner. He never listened to what I had to say but kept explaining about the most random things he thought were worth mentioning and he did not know when to stop. It was very annoying. Additionally there were noisy dogs in the neighborhood. The pool was messy. We barely used it. There were chains of extension cords in the owner's studio. It looked very dangerous. I had a bad experience overall.

Overall, it is a nice place and well built. Everything is clean, there are plenty of dishes and towels/bedding. There are also a lot of food stuffs. There are two refrigerators, but the one on the right does not close well. The stove, microwave and dishwasher work fine. There is also a hot tub and all bedrooms have a TV. Washer and dryer also worked well.CONS: Pictures of property seem to be from a former owner and are not up to date. The screen doors work but not the way they are supposed to. They all need to be repaired or adjusted. The doors across the front of the living room, do not open at all.A couple of cabinets need minor repairs. Because of overhanging trees, the pool looks dirty, but it is cleaned every week so the water is fine. The owner should sweep the pool area the first time before guests arrive. There are brooms to sweep later if needed. This area of Oahu can get hot in the day and air conditioning needs to be used in three of the bedrooms to cool down. The master bedroom and the central bedroom do not really need it, but the other bedrooms do. The right smaller bedroom in the front of the upstairs has a large window but no screen. There is a vacuum, but it is not really good and it has no attachments that work with it.OTHER:We used the garage to park our car and enter the house. The front door works but seems stiff, we never used it.Lastly, the owner lives on site in a separate area, we had no problem with this and almost never saw him.
