Excellent vacation stay.

This place is absolutely amazing. Everything was clean, updated and the check in progress was fantastic. Easy communication with the host, who answered back immediately. This was our first time staying in the 4x4 area, and we loved it more than staying in Corolla and duck. The space, the horses and the easiness of the drive on part with everything loaded in the truck. Ed for the kids made it super simple. We will be back next year. If you’re looking at renting this property, DO IT. You won’t regret it for the amazing price!

Location locat

We had a really great stay at Sandy Bottom. There are a few updates that still need to be made to the property, but you can tell the owners have been working hard to keep it up, & they recently replaced the dock and front porch which looked very nice! Pros: LOCATION - It takes a long time to get from the end of the road to the property (around 45 mins), but it is WORTH IT! The experience of driving on the beach is amazing! We also loved being able to take the cars & park right by the shore while spending our days at the beach, so convenient & easy. The beach near the house was also very uncrowded, despite it being a holiday weekend. The beach itself was so pristine & just beautiful! Star-gazing was out of this world!!HOUSE - The house was well-stocked with lots of dishes and cooking utensils, linens & bath towels were also provided. Two refrigerators help to keep food stocked, (as it’s a long trip to get back to the grocery store). There were also 8BRs, plenty of room for big/multiple families.CABANA/POOL AREA - So much fun, we really enjoyed spending time out by the pool/hot-tub & having drinks at the pool bar.KAYAKS - 2 kayaks & life vests were available for use, (needed cleaning off), & there is a launch area right by the dock on the property. We had fun going for a little paddle in the canal (the water is murky, but that’s to be expected).CONS: Bugs (couple of roaches), outdoor shower/hoses didn’t work, broken blender, pool heater not working, low water pressure

The 4x4 beach is the ultimate getaway... Head into town for all your usual beach town amenities like surf shops, mini golf, restaurants, boat rentals and so much more. Once you put it in 4WD and hit the beach your stress just melts away. Watch for pods of dolphins playing in the waves and wild horses grazing on the dunes. Relax with some tunes in the poolside cabana, use our kayaks or bring a paddleboard to explore the the extensive canals right from our back yard dock. Keep an eye out for herons, turtles, deer, horses and more!

We have owned this home since 2016 and have made improvements every year so there are constantly new updates... paint, furniture, decor, bedding, bathrooms, flooring... we do it all! 2024 featured two newly updated bathrooms, two bedrooms of new furniture and multiple rooms with fresh, neutral paint. More new bathrooms and furniture coming for 2025!

Our location in the 4x4 is ideal... tucked away on the canal you can enjoy your privacy. Then you can pack up the trucks, bring the tents and set up on the beach for a unique way to enjoy the coast!
