The Black Marlin Lakehouse - Brighton MI Waterfront Cottage

Welcome to The Black Marlin Lakehouse! Situated on a quiet hillside overlooking a peaceful no-wake lake just outside of downtown Brighton.

Guests that stay at The Black Marlin will enjoy lake living at its finest! Our lake house boasts an impressive view of the lake from every room except the bathroom! Relax on the deck with your morning coffee or afternoon beverage of choice. Our lake prohibits the use of gas engines making it an incredibly peaceful experience!

The space
You will wake up relaxed and refreshed after a good nights sleep in one of our two bedrooms.

The Lakeside Lookout Room (Bedroom 1) offers a comfortable queen bed, bedside tables, a dresser to store your clothes/belongings and an incredible view of the lake with a walkout into the screened porch!

The Black Marlin Master Room is located down the spiral staircase, offering a queen bed with a pullout underneath (twin bed). You will have stunning views of the lake, a dresser to store clothes/belongings, and not to mention an infrared dry sauna… yes you read that right!

We have plenty of activities for everyone! Fish from the dock, take the kayaks or paddle board out, or cruise around the lake on the paddle boat. If you’re looking to spend some time on dry land, challenge each other in surfboard corn hole, enjoy s’mores over a warm campfire or enjoy a few drinks at The Black Marlin Bar (our backyard tiki bar)!!

If you’re looking for an adventure, at the end of our street (1/4 of a mile) you have access into some of Michigan’s best parks. Island Lake State Park has plenty of hiking/biking trails, beaches, fishing docks, volleyball courts and perfect picnic spots. If you’re looking for a full morning/all day adventure, travel through the state park and you will connect to Kensington Metropark!

Guest are welcome to the entire property. Free parking can accommodate 3 vehicles.

We have a couple of closets that are locked that we keep some of our personal things in. Other than that, please enjoy free roam of the premises.

Other things to note
This property is nestled on a hillside. There are a few flights of stairs between the parking area and house. Please reconsider booking if climbing/descending stairs is an issue.

This house (as all houses in this area) is on well water. There is a water softener. If you are particular about your water please reconsider. We do have a reverse osmosis faucet next to the kitchen sink for drinking water.
