Cozy Vintage Cottage on Big Lake (oui, c'est le nom du lac)

Le petit chalet (400 pieds carrés) vous rappellera d'aller au chalet de grand-mère. Le salon principal est une combinaison cuisine, salon et salle à manger, ouverte sur les chevrons. Chambre au bord du lac a un lit double, chambre en bordure de route a un lit double avec un lit gigogne double. Le futon de lit double dans le salon offre un espace de couchage supplémentaire. La salle de bain a une douche simple.

TV, lecteur DVD, certains DVD, livres, jeux et cartes sont stockés pour un jour de pluie. Les serviettes et les draps sont fournis avec certains condiments de cuisine de base et des épices à griller.

Les équipements extérieurs comprennent un quai avec une zone de baignade sablonneuse, une barque, un pédalo, un foyer, une table de pique-nique et un barbecue à gaz. Le bois de chauffage est en vente localement. Le taux de location est de 75 $. 00 par nuit plus la taxe d'utilisation requise de 6% (total de 79, 50 $) Il y a un minimum de deux nuits. Veuillez vous renseigner concernant un tarif hebdomadaire.

Big Lake est un lac profond alimenté par une source et accessible à tous si vous apportez votre propre bateau. À proximité, Evart accueille le festival de musique Dulcimer et non électrique en juillet, ainsi que le festival des sculpteurs sur bois. Il a également un marché fermier le samedi et un concert gratuit. Des excursions en rafting, en tubing et en kayak sont également disponibles sur la rivière Muskegon à proximité. Le Pere Marquette State Trail est à deux miles du chalet pour la randonnée et le vélo. Le lac Michigan est à environ 1 1/2 heures de route pour une belle excursion d'une journée.

Stayed for Memorial Weekend, the weather did not treat us well, but it was still a very relaxing time away from the city and with a beautiful lake view. If you enjoy fishing, you will def catch one every time very time you drop your pole in.

Great Location

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at this cozy little lakefront cottage. My family stayed there every summer when I was growing up, so it was fun to return with my bride and enjoy the place for ourselves. The dock area is fantastic for quick water access and the ability to enjoy the lake at a moments notice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend anyone interested in staying here to book it as soon as possible!

Fun Trip at a Cabin in Sears, MI

Had a great time in this small cabin in Sears on Big Lake. Caught some fish, went to town, hungout, relaxed, peaceful, and quiet. It was a nice vacation. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a little cabin up north.

I came to cozy cottage on big lake with my family .We drove almost 3 hours to get there it was defently worth it we caught lots of fish very quiet relaxing and we will defently be back .Lin was a great host always responded very quickly.He left a sheet with events and a welcome note cottage was clean and so relaxing .

Amazing and Affordable

For 87 a night, you don’t normally expect to get a cabin *on a lake*, complete with boats you can use, but this place has it. It also has a shed for bike storage. Has everything you need inside as well, including a wide variety of cooking spices lol. Host is incredibly attentive and accommodating. 20/10, would 100% recommend to anyone looking for an affordable vacation!

A Vintage Northern Michigan Cottage Experience

This is a beautiful waterfront cottage with everything you need, all items well thought out, plus comfortable beds for sleeping. Very peaceful location near Evart, a quaint small town with a great walking trail and a fantastic used bookstore.

Cute, vintage. Enjoyed the lake view, and the quiet until Labor Day visitors filled the area. Good base for visiting family and friends in the area. Downside was the slope from the car to the cabin. Difficult for knees not in the best shape.

A cozy getaway...

The cabin has everything you could need and sits on a very quiet lake. Lin communicated everything very well and was easy to work with. The place was very clean! We used the paddle boat and fire-pit daily, did some fishing, and mostly just relaxed. I would absolutely stay here again.

A little tight for 4 adults

The accommodations had everything and more. The owner anticipated every need in the kitchen, bathroom and things to do. The lake is clean and clear. Great fishing - caught pike and bass. Highly recommend the location.

Awesome getaway

I took my two daughters 23 & 13 for their birthday getaway. My youngest caught tons of fish and we absolutely loved the paddle boat!! Friendly neighbors and quiet atmosphere!! We will be back!!

Our Getaway

We were amazed on how stocked it was, and we bought a lot of our own things to use. It’s quiet and peaceful and that’s exactly what we needed. I have been stressed out about work and my fiancé has been stressed out also. This is the kind of place to go to relax, there’s no WiFi so you can go fishing, boating, barbecue and have a bonfire. We had an amazing time.

Relaxing at the Lake

We had a great stay at Lin’s cottage. It’s nothing fancy and just the basics- but all we needed! It was a great opportunity for our little family to unplug and spend some time together. My son loved the paddle boat and looking at fish off the dock. We did an easy drive to Lake Michigan one day and enjoyed the fireworks on the lake. Lin was easy to communicate with and check in was super easy. Thank you! :)

Great price & we really enjoyed being right on the lake and had fun using the rowboat. It’s a nice clean lake with a bunch of fish in it. The cabin is super rustic as described so be prepared for no AC, no WiFi, and the interior has open wiring all over and didn’t feel clean enough to walk around barefoot. If you cook- most knives in the kitchen drawer looked rusty. It was not made clear that the garage you are instructed to park next to is not actually part of the property but owned by a neighbor. The garage was opened at times with people going in and out.

A friend and I stayed here 6 nights & 7 days. As 2 ladies in our 70’s, the cabin was cozy with all the essentials for getting away from the rat race of the city, and technology distractions. It is rustic and simple, nothing fancy, but It’s peaceful, with two bedrooms, a bathroom with great hot water, all the kitchen essentials and a lake view that is unparalleled, with an outside firepit we used each night for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs. We used the paddle boat more than once. Quaint towns are nearby if you love history, including Cadillac, Clare and an Amish community. The hosts have a second lake house next door, (Lin & Robert) and were so very nice. They even gave us a ride on their pontoon boat. I would highly recommend this place, not only for the simplicity and serene atmosphere but because the hosts are so nice, which is so important! I’m from Texas and this was my first experience in Michigan, and I and my friend hope to be back.

Just the basics

Just be aware there is no insulation in this place. If you go in the summer there are only fans for A/C, and you if you go in winter I saw only 1 heater for the whole place. Me and a buddy just needed somewhere to sleep each night while we were up riding motorcycles for the weekend, so it was fine for us, but I won’t be bringing my girlfriend here anytime soon. I have Verizon and only had one bar… would have been nice to see Wi-Fi offered.

Not good

Getting there was fine. It was hot and with windows open and all fans on still hot. There were no comfortable chairs just table chairs. There was a long list of what you were supposed to do before you left. It wasn’t the cleanest. There were no doors on the bedrooms just a wall between. Nice view. I liked sitting and watching the boats on the water. Would I go there again. No

Dear Mary, I am sorry that you were disappointed with your stay. I strive to provide a positive experience for all visitors. I realize it was hot. With temps in upper 80's and high dewpoints, I was hot in my cottage also. Usually there is an onshore breeze that helps considerably. Unfortunately it came from the opposite direction during your stay. The living area is basically 1 room and photos clearly show the furnishings. The list of expectations at checkout is quite common with other hosts and primarily speaks to removing refuse and securing the dwelling. It is also provided to the guest at booking I wish you the best in your future travels..
