Wanna get away? Come escape to Kurt’s cabin, on 40 acres of private wooded land, located right in the middle of the Hiawatha National Forest. Modern 3BR/2BA home with all the amenities of new construction, including stainless appliances, dishwasher, microwave, and ice maker. Finished rec room with a pullout sofa sleeps 2. House also features a wood-burning fireplace and a sauna! Bring your toys and enjoy the nearby fishing lakes, snowmobile trails, hunting land, ATV trails, hiking, snow-shoeing, and kayaking. 16 minute drive to the famous Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. You won’t find such a unique and comfortable home.

Dogs welcome but must be crated if left alone in cabin (large crate provided).

NEW for 2025 is the addition of fast (150MBPS) internet for streaming!

Two large bundles of firewood are included free for your stay (you choose indoor/outdoor). After that, guests can choose to purchase bundles from our supply for $15 through the check-in portal.

SNOWMOBILERS
We are about a half mile from the trails with very little road riding needed, so no need to trailer!

✅ This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $1500 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $49 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $2 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional.

To make this process easy for you, we use a secure and very simple, app-free platform called Happy Guest. It is not an app, and you do not have to sign up for an account - it’s a safe and secure website. It also gives you a guest portal with all the info about the home and all of my favorite local spots.

DOG POLICY:
We allow up to 2 dogs as long as they are 2 years old or older at check in and fully house-trained. A $100/fee/dog applies. This is a mandatory fee. To help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all, guests bringing dogs or assistance animals must submit a request through BetterPet Passport (powered by PetScreening). PetScreening ensures that all visiting pets and animals meet our property’s guidelines. After booking, you’ll receive a link to complete the process. Thanks for your cooperation!
