WONDERLODGE welcomes you to The Judy, a private, upscale suite located on the exclusive BEHRENDS FAMILY HOMESTEAD—nearly 10 acres of serene Hill Country farmland. Surrounded by rolling vineyards and just 15 minutes from Fredericksburg’s charming Main Street, it’s a peaceful yet convenient base for your wine country escape.

NEW: Resort-Style Pool (Opening Mid-July)
The Behrends Family Homestead now features a resort-style pool, located just behind the property and reserved exclusively for Homestead guests. The pool is shared among guests staying in The Oswald, The Judy, The Melvin, and The Cora, so it's never crowded and never open to the public. Cool off after a day of wine tasting, float under the big Texas sky, or claim a lounge chair with your morning coffee.

With cookware, dishware, and cutlery provided, meal prep is a breeze. The kitchen island seats four, perfect for casual dining or sharing a glass of wine while cooking.

The open-concept living area blends comfort and function, featuring a queen-size pull-out sofa for extra guests, a cozy reading chair, and a gas fireplace for a warm ambiance. Stream your favorite shows and movies on the flat-screen Roku TV.

The bedroom is a retreat of its own with a plush king-size bed, luxurious linens, and an ensuite bath that rivals any spa. Enjoy an oversized jetted tub, a walk-in rain shower, double vanities, and a private water closet.

Step into your secluded courtyard—complete with a hot tub, outdoor flat-screen TV, fire pit, bistro table, lounge seating, and even an outdoor shower. Whether you're soaking under the stars or unwinding with a good show and a glass of local wine, The Judy is designed for pure relaxation.

AMENITIES: Wood for firepit, champagne, and rose petals are not provided, but please inquire about our romance package for your stay!

LOCATION: The Judy sits right along the 290 Wine Trail, placing you in the heart of Texas Wine Country with wineries just minutes away. Please note, the convenience of this prime location comes with some highway noise.

PRIVACY: The Judy is one of four thoughtfully designed accommodations on the Behrends Family Homestead and shares one side of a duplex. While the suite is attached to another unit, it features a fully fenced private courtyard for your exclusive use. The other two units are set toward the back of the property, so while you may see fellow guests enjoying the homestead, all amenities listed are private and reserved just for you.

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT TIME: Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 11am. You will receive a code for keyless check 2 days before your arrival. We are only able to offer an early check in if there is not a booking before yours as it takes time for our cleaners to prepare and restock the home for each stay. For this reason, we are also not able to offer a late check out when we have guests checking in the same day.

GUEST RENTAL AGREEMENT: We kindly ask all guests to sign a separate rental agreement after booking. This helps us protect both you and our property, making sure everything is in order for your stay. We’ve kept the agreement simple and straightforward, and we’re happy to answer any questions you might have about it.

CLEANLINESS: We put our heart and soul into ensuring the space is sparkling clean and ready for your stay! We invite you to make yourself at home and show our space the same love and care you would your own. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to keep it pristine for every guest, and we're excited for you to enjoy it! Some of our favorite amenities are outdoors, and while we do our very best to keep everything tidy, a bit of Texas Hill Country dust or the occasional fallen leaf is simply part of the charm. We hope you’ll embrace it as part of the relaxed, nature-filled experience that makes this place so special.

MINIMUM AGE TO BOOK: You must be at least 21 years of age to book. A photo of your government ID is required after booking and we will require you to sign a rental agreement.

WELL & SEPTIC: Our home offers the charm of rural living with the convenience of proximity to local attractions. As we rely on well and septic systems, we gently remind guests to be mindful when using sinks and bathrooms. For those not accustomed to well water, you might occasionally notice a sulfur scent. Rest assured, this is completely harmless, and our filters and water softeners are designed to minimize any odors, although a hint of it may still linger at times.

CRITTERS: Our house is in the beautiful Texas countryside, and like many homeowners around here, we have regular pest control to keep critters and bugs at bay. However, every now and then, a few might sneak in. It's pretty rare, but we just wanted to give you a heads-up that it's part of country living!

DAMAGE PROTECTION: Your booking includes coverage for accidental damage during your stay, because we understand that sometimes things happen. We kindly ask that you let us know if anything does, so we can take care of repairs or replacements as needed.

INSURANCE: Given the unpredictable nature of our world, we strongly suggest considering travel insurance to safeguard against any unexpected events. Our cancellation policy is firmly in place, so insurance can offer you peace of mind and protection. For those exploring travel insurance options, InsureMyTrip and Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection are two providers you might look into. Please note, we don't have any direct ties or endorsements for these companies; we're just pointing out some avenues you might consider.

The unit does have a minut device to monitor excess noise in an effort to ensure the comfort of all of our guests.

A: We welcome up to 1 well-behaved pet per reservation and they must be on the booking. Please note that the property is located along a busy freeway and your pet should be kept secure.

Restricted breeds: We do not allow bully breeds or any breed deemed aggressive under local regulations or insurance guidelines. Please inquire if you're unsure whether your pet qualifies.

Leash required: Pets must be kept on a leash at all times when outside the home.
