We're in the heart of Newlands, a coveted and beautiful neighborhood: a stone's throw -- a mere 2 blocks -- from the Rocky Mountain foothills where one can hear coyotes at night and yet sip a Rooibos tea or latte at a local cafe where local families, cyclists and intellectuals gather, not to mention a full service grocery, pharmacy and artesenal wine store. Make yourself at home in this delightful 2-(convertible bedroom in great room) Boulder retreat. This lovely carriage house features 2 queen beds, 2 bathrooms with a Japanese soaking bathtub and hair dryer, and a cozy living room with a Murphy bed. Perfect for a couple, single person or small group of 3 guests looking for a bucolic place to relax and unwind. A great place to call home base while you're away.. Upstairs bedroom includes walk-in closet, customized walk-in shower with custom built shower concrete seating and radiant floor heating. Upstairs bedroom has custom built windows, custom built barn doors for closet and bathroom. Location, location, location: two blocks from Rocky Mountain foothills trails; walking distance from local stores and cafes, park, quick drive or bike ride to Central Boulder and University of Colorado campus. Kitchen in great room has new state of art appliances: induction stove and convection oven: pantry; stacked washer dryer; dishwasher; micro wave; and flat screen tv with wifi. Radiant heat in great room. Wooden hand hewn ash stairs, all doors (exterior and interior), upstairs are hand built. Windows all custom built with state of the art hardware for opening and closing ease. Shade tree provides great coverage for backyard with various shrubbery.

I am originally from New York, but moved to Boulder to study at the University of Colorado, as an undergraduate and as a law student. I knew I would never leave, as I became enamored with this special place at the heart of the Rocky Mountains with some of the culture of a metropolitan area, thanks to the university; the NOAA and NIST. More people with post graduate degrees per capita outside of Knoxville, TN (home of the Atomic Energy Commission). I fell in love with Boulder's proximity to the mountains and the community's respect for our surrounding nature. Thankfully, we have a green built that prohibits encroachment of the open space. This is an oasis where culture can meet nature without conflict. You can hear coyotes at night and see an occasional elk, many deer, and view a bobcat.
I have travelled widely and visited every continent. I have lived in Europe and South America, but I have always returned to Boulder. I love hosting because it's a great way to meet folks from other places, be it foreign or other parts of the U.S.

The carriage house is in the heart of Newlands, a coveted North Boulder neighborhood, a stone's throw from the trails (two blocks) and a wee bit over a mile from restaurants, pharmacy, vet, winery and grocery. It is a quiet mixed neighborhood: young professionals; retired professional pensioners; and small families. It is upmarket, but not ostentatious. One can bike/walk to a bus-stop/drive to downtown and less that 20 minutes from CU campus and Naropa Univ. There are very few places on this planet where you can mingle with neighbors and discuss Mozart, biking in Patagonia and debate which oregano is better: Greek vs. Italian. The hiking is awesome in that one can walk a mere two blocks from the house and land on a beautiful foothills trail that will take you for miles or just an hour hike before dinner. North Boulder Park, a twenty minute walk will have a host of activities for everyone: fee yoga, al fresco gym; coffee & pastry truck. Low, low crime and very quiet. Newlands also has some of the best ice cream on the Front Range: Sweet Cow is within walking distance: where guilty pleasures can be abated by walking in nature or the bucolic neighborhood.

A newly built architecturally designed carriage house that has hand hewn ash floors on the stairs and upstairs bedroom. The great room downstairs has an artisan concrete floor with radiant heating and bathroom with a Japanese soaking tub. Bathroom upstairs in master bedroom is all custom tiled with artesan concrete seat in shower, and radiant floor heating. All the windows are custom built; appliances are new and state of the art: induction stove with convection and air fry oven. Views from upstairs bedroom are beautiful; access to backyard and patio. EV charger and off street parking. All the exterior doors are hand crafted. 850 square feet of lovingly designed and built carriage house.
