What a find! This property is a little gem. It has taken 4 years to get booked in for a few days as there's never been any availability and having stayed there we now know why. The location is out of this world and the cottage itself is superb, it also has it's own parking area. It really does have everything you could ask for, and more. We purposely cut our days short so we could spend as much time as possible at the cottage. The town is walking distance and has many pubs and restaurants to choose from for evening meals. Can't wait to go back.

This was our second stay at the cottage and it was just as lovely as we remembered. The weather was very warm, but we found shade on the terrace in the morning and managed to keep the house cool, thanks to some very helpful tips from Helen! It was a great spot to watch the eclipse and we hardly moved, other than to take walks along the river. The kitchen is particularly well equipped and we enjoyed cooking and eating meals both inside and out!

A perfect place for a quiet escape. Had the weather not been so glorious we’d have been happy staying in the very well equipped house. We enjoyed long walks and the great options for food in Barnard Castle. Can highly recommend.

An amazing 5 nights away in this gorgeous house on the river. It's a spacious home for 2 people, it was very well equipped and everything was of a very high standard. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was gorgeous with a powerful waterfall shower and large double ended bath. Lovely to arrive to fresh flowers & wine. Lots of places to sit inside or out to enjoy the view whatever the weather.Barnard Castle has everything you need within a short walk. Lots of lovely walks in the area.

Fantastic cottage by the river, excellently presented and everything you can think of was provided. Just a short walk into "Barney'" with its selection of shops, pubs and excellent restaurants. Would heartily recommend if you want a relaxing break but with amenities close by.

Absolutely stunning property- it’s beautiful and private with lovely outdoor space. It’s very large for two people and minutes from the centre too. One of the best places I’ve stayed- understated luxury, with everything you need. Highly recommended

Perfect for peace and tranquility

Thoroughly enjoyed our five nights stay in this beautiful cottage. It had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. Definitely five star facilities throughout. This is one of the best places we have stayed in on our extensive travels.

An amazing place

A perfect spot

Wonderful location on the river Tees. Second visit and just as perfect as the first. Great walks along the river and within walking distance to the town. Perfect place to relax and enjoy nature.

Perfect staycation

A great setting and cottage. One of the best places we have stayed at. We could easily have spent all day watching the river and the wildlife. Easy walk into town with plenty to see and visit in the area. Just wish that we could have stayed there longer.

The cottage is everything you wish for as a luxurious getaway for two persons. All facilities are in excellent shape, the interior is beautiful and the location on the river bank really is something special.The lovely town is within walking distance and you only have to walk out the door to find yourself on one of the many, many public footpaths and walking tracks in the area.Highly recommended!
