Stone's Throw Cottage - Centrally located 2-bedroom with newly remodeled kitchen
Welcome to Stone's Throw Cottage! Nestled beneath the bluffs in a quiet La Crosse neighborhood that is only a 10 minute drive or 20 minute bike ride to downtown, hospitals and universities.
Charming and cozy - One of the first homes in this part of La Crosse- the original 1925 pine floors have been restored & the use of wood throughout give the space a warm cottage feel.
The main floor bedroom features a queen size bed, dresser, closet, i-phone charging station, squeezebox and smart tv.
The second bedroom is upstairs - you'll feel like you're in a treehouse. (one with 5' 10" ceilings) The space includes three single beds, couch, smart tv, games and books. Please note that there is no door to close off the space from the stairs. The stairs to the loft have a narrower treads than what you may be used to. Please use caution on the stairs and always hold the railing.
The main living area includes a seating area with a sofa couch, gas fireplace, record player/bluetooth speaker, and plenty of games and books. This long room also includes a dining area that is just off the kitchen.
Newly remodeled kitchen includes a dishwasher and all the appliances that you'll need to cook and bake. We love coffee and provide guests with a French press, drip coffeemaker and an automatic espresso machine. Tea drinkers will enjoy the electric kettle and tea pots. You'll find a selection of tea and coffee for your use.
Main floor laundry room is in a closet off the kitchen. Here you'll find a compact size washer & dryer and drying rack. Iron, hand-held steamer and ironing board are in the living room closet.
The one bathroom is located on the main floor right off of the living room. It includes a pedestal sink, toilet, mirror and small shower.
Once temps are above 50 degrees, you will love the 3-season room. The space includes an area to relax with friends or your favorite show. A small table makes for another game playing space.
The deck and front porch can't be beat for relaxing and watching the birds. The backyard gives you more space for you guessed it-yard games!!!

We moved to La Crosse nearly 30 years ago after driving downtown and discovering the Bodega Brewpub, Jules Coffeehouse and Pearl St. Books all in a row on Pearl St. (and they are all still there!)
Three of our favorite things: good beer, coffee and books!
We also enjoy bicycling, hiking, tennis, bowling & home exchanging. Michael hosts a weekly Wednesday night social bicycle ride that starts at Pearl Street Brewery. Ask about it to join in the fun.

Voici pourquoi lâhĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement
We love the combination of the nature in our neighborhood and the ease of living in the city. You could hike to the top of hedgehog bluff in 30 minutes, be on mountain bike trail in 5 minutes or bike down to the Mississippi in 20 minutes. Not into biking- no worries, driving around La Crosse is super easy and relaxed.

Probably the most unique thing about Stone's Throw Cottage is that we live right next door. We are literally a "stone's throw" away.
We love to meet our guests but realize that sometimes guests just want to settle in at a new place on your own.
