Wonderful cabin, we loved the hot tub on the deck. Clean and comfortable. Everything was where is was suppose to be so we didn't need to contact the hosts. Close to the ski hills too, excellent location. Dog loved the nice fenced back yard. The entry to the yard from upstairs and downstairs made it wasy to let him in and out.

Hot tube doesn’t heat the water .

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have to use the Hot tub with worm to cold water :( .. is just not the same and the water was salty , it didn’t feel like clean water . . I was not aware to open the vent . The house has a very beautiful view , but is better to bring a truck instead because the entrance can damage the bumper of the car .

Big Bear Stay

We went right before New Years Eve and the price was ridiculously high for what they offered.

The views and location from the Canyon Crest cabin are incredible and we are plaesed that you too appreciate this, as this cabin is a popular ski spot with excellent ski slope views from the large deck! The holidays definitely affect the rates for all cabins in Big Bear and coming during the December Holidays means that demand is high and so are prices. WE are sorry that you felt that the price did not reflect the cabin. Come back during another time, non holiday, and you will notice lower rates and a much less busy Big Bear in general! We will certainly do a thorough walk through to ensure that this cabin is looking excellent for future guests. Nice Weekend Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin was a nice weekend getaway with my family and friends. The location was close to the activities we had planned (bowling, zoo, etc) and had a great view! The rooms were a bit small (we had our 1 year old with us, so we put a pack n play crib in our room), but the beds were comfortable and warm. The jacuzzi was nice and hot, very enjoyable. We had some trouble with smoke coming from the fireplace, but management contacted me VERY quickly with help to resolve the issue. The property was clean, although a bit outdated, but served its purpose for an easy weekend away for the holidays.

canyon crest review

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: great location, beautiful views, awesome jacuzzi, driveway entrance needs an asphalt fill to avoid front end car damage upon entering, funky smell in cabin, uncomfortable bed, did not feel comfortable taking a shower there (so I didn't) as it appeared unclean. In my opinion cabin needs a little TLC.

Great 1st Big Bear Experience!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was perfect for our group of 6. It was not as close to the lake as we thought it would be but the AMAZING view made up for it. I really loved that the kitchen was well equipped. The only negative I can say is that the dining chairs need either fixing or replacing cos theyre not sturdy and some almost coming apart. Overall, it was a GREAT 1stay and would definitely recommend this place!

Canyon Crest

The house was dirty and had a smell to it like it wasn't cleaned for months. The shower had mold along the door. The house was not worth the price point since it hadn't been updated or cleaned. The hot tub and location were the only plus sides of the property.

Great location - ok rental company

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There was a gas grill in the pictures but a charcoal grill was at the property. We definitely would have preferred gas but it was still a great property. The property manager is a little overwhelming. I've used Airbnb in many countries and I've never had as long of a checklist and as many emails and phone calls from a rental company. I think the company would do better to have 5 or less items for checkout and less words in their emails - people would probably respond better to this

Nice place

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Ok I’m gonna complain first . The driveway is horrible , but all the driveways are so prepare yourself to back in! The house is cute but dated. The interior was very light cabin and cute. It’s a small place perfect for a couple and some kids . The living room has a great fireplace but the couch is old and needs replaced and a second couch needs to be added. The front windows have an amazing view. The owner needs to put up blinds the house cooks you during the mid day sun. My only other complaint is if your paying this much money the thermostat needs to work properly and the beds all need new mattresses! I would definitely stay here again but the few items I pointed out need to be fixed.

The driveway is a steep one and during icy conditions, a 4 wheel drive provides the best access. We agree that a proper functioning thermostat is vital and we will check this today to confirm that it is working properly. Great neighborhood.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was very nice and had a great view. Never had to to leave the place. We got to sled right in the yard and even in the street out front. The one thing I would have liked, is with the amount you are paying for a rental it would have been nice to have the drive way at least have cleared for when we showed up. Before we could unload I have to shovel the driveway just to get the truck out of the street. The drive way was very steep so we could not park all the way up. This made for unloading very hard. I note the other rentals on the street had guys come by and clear the driveway before and after the rentals. Because we got 2ft that day we got plowed in and it took me and hour just to shovel the truck out. Not to mention the shovel that we found at the house was half broken also, so that did it help. But if you are a family of four you will be comfortable. I would not put six people in this house.

Beware BED BUGS!!!

We stayed two nights at this location to visit the beautiful snow and our entire family was bitten terribly by bed bugs! We contacted management and they stated they just replaced the mattresses (wonder why?) but clearly there is an infestation in the entire house as each family member slept in different rooms and were bitten with over three dozen bites. Management declined to respond if they had professionals come out after we left the property, only stating they “looked” in the rooms and found no evidence of bed bugs. We paid above the normal price range and expected better communication and transparency. I would only hope they do a complete and professional cleaning. If they replaced mattresses but didn’t bother throwing away headboards and treating the entire house I’m afraid bedbugs will be a continued problem. Very disappointed in the response from management and their lack of concern regarding the bed bug issue. Would NOT recommend this property or the Big Bear Lakefront Cabin property management team.

You can find better

I came here to celebrate my 30th. I was beyond mortified by all the signs about charging you $6 per towel if you dirty it. It felt like I was in a hostile at 23. There is a hefty cleaning fee but an insane list of chores to do before you leave. I understand the neighbors probably hate being next to a rental but the signs to literally go inside and stop talking at 10pm was crazy. The best part we spent 2k for 3 nights and the listing tells you they will not supply past 1 toilet paper roll. They tell you they will give you 1 TP roll, 1 paper towel roll and you must clean and bring your own supplies. I wish I spent it at another property that didn't feel so cheap for 2k. I was embarrassed with all the dorm room/ hostile signs and having to tell my guest to bring their own TP, salt, pepper, paper towels, and to stop talking outside by 10p. They give you a sheet of fines the first one is $500 then it's $1,000. It felt like they wanted someone to break the rules so they could fine them. Literally the most anxious stay ever. I ended up wanting to celebrate another weekend because this wasn't it.

These rules are unfortunately in place for guests that forget, that there are neighbors :) We certainly understand as a guest, wanting to relax and enjoy your stay AND please know that all of the residential neighbors in Big Bear, also want to enjoy their weekends :) The City of Big Bear Lake has found it necessary to impose a GOOD NEIGHBOR POLICY to have rules and a code of conduct for guests so that, noise past 10pm doesn't disrupt residential neighbors. These fines are imposed by the city and not by us, and are agreed to at the time of check in so that they can avoid any fines during their stays. We rarely have issues with our guests. Regarding supplies, we do provide starter supplies for our guests including several rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom, paper towels, soaps etc and for those guests staying longer than a weekend, we request that they bring additional supplies. We really do our best to accommodate our guests we do understand that everyone has a different perspective, desires and preferences and please know that we do our best to provide a well cleaned, great value home with as many amenities as possible for all of our guest stays. We do not ask our guests to clean the cabin. We are disappointed to see that this well loved cabin has received a 2 star review based on the Good Neighbor Policy requests by the City of Big Bear Lake. Please know that each home is privately owned and this homeowner works diligently to provide a great space for guests. We are sorry that the City of Big Bear Lake requirements were challenging and made for a less than desireable stay. .

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great view, lots of issues with this house:1. Was dirty on arrival. Food in the living room rug, used dental floss, dead bee on kitchen table.2. Oven would not bake. Broiler only.3. Broken deck chairs. Splinters and nails coming up on deck.4. Screen doors don't close, fall off frequently.5. Dark bedrooms. Light switches don't do anything.6. Door to water heater not latched or locked.7. Ice maker doesn't work.8. Kitchen chair held together with masking tape.9. No drawers in bedrooms. Nowhere to unpack.10. Old furniture.11. Curtain rod support fell. Almost hit my head.

Cozy and snowy

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We came up for a couple of days during ski week, between storms. We arrived in town right as the next storm was brewing, and by the time we arrived at the cabin there were 3-4” of snow. The driveway is steep enough and angled so we needed chains to get up it, and our trailer hitch on our RAV4 hit the ground. No damage to the car, but definitely be aware if you have a hitch or low clearance. The property manager were awesome through the whole time, and they sent a plow the next day so we had no trouble getting back up the driveway after we came back from skiing. The hot tub is really nice, there were a bunch of jets doing a pattern on my back and it was perfectly hot and very full. The bedrooms are downstairs and living spaces upstairs, boys liked the bunk beds. Front room mattress was ok, my husband didn’t like it, but fine for a couple of days. Kitchen was well stocked, everything worked great. DVD player remote was missing, but we made it work for the movie we brought and the kids were happy. We used Netflix on the roku the next night and that works great. Water heater is new and water pressure is excellent for a nice hot shower. Bathroom has a tub which made the 4yo very happy. All in all a great time taking the kiddos to the slopes for a couple of days, cozy cabin so their noise doesn’t bother anybody. :)

Nice rustic cabin. Great hot tub. My kids loved it. My only knock is that the drive way is something to navigate.

Great potential ruined by cheap interior and poor management

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I am giving this property credit for an incredible view and allowing dogs. However, our stay was soured significantly as soon as we arrived: the property was not ready at 4:00 pm as stated, so they left us outside in a bad blizzard. Obviously, the management was more concerned about protocol than in our safety. Finally, they gave us the code to enter around 7:00 pm and the cleaning crew arrived around 7:30 pm. If staying at the property, be prepared and bring your own paper/kitchen towels, laundry and countertops cleaning detergents. Some of the furniture is quite outdated. The mattresses and especially the pillows should be replaced. The kitchen area needs a deep cleaning. The fireplace is great but do not expect much from the new hot tub – it opens only halfway so you must take turns to use it.In conclusion, this property is overpriced in its current condition. I would not return.

Beautiful view and lovely neighborhood

We had a wonderful stay. The home has an amazing view and upper deck, it’s in a fantastic neighborhood and has a gated backyard for the pup. A nice cozy cabin vibe and a really lovely management company. We had a great time!
