My wife Elsa and I were lucky enough to host Carolyne and Ron for the second time. This gave us the opportunity to better get to know and appreciate some fantastic people, with whom we have established a relationship of true friendship. Not sure where to start. This was a dream stay, and we didn't want to leave. Sebastiano and Elsa are the nicest people and we got welcomed with fresh fruits and wine. The house has everything you need and you are so close to all the cafes, restaurants, urban beaches and stores that you don't need to leave Ortigia. If you want to be part of the city and leave a true Sicilian experience book this house. When we can, we'll be back.Grazie mille.

The hostabd his wife were kind and a pleasure to meet. The accomodation is very well located next to the Piazza Duomo but surprisingly quiet. The waterfront with its restaurants is literally two minutes away. The apartment was clean and well supplied with coffee, water and fruit. The bed was comfortable. The outside terrace was a quiet place to soak up the sun. (Even in November!)

A little gem

This place is cute as a button. The owner, Sebastiono, is kind and flexible. He also works through any language barriers! The location is perfect for an island on which a car would be a hassle!It has everything you need in a compact space.

This was a lovely apartment, cool despite the heat, large enough for three not to bump into each other too much, equipped with many small comforts that made our stay in Ortygia lovely! Amiable Sebastiano was most helpful: drawing a detailed map, explaining where we could purchase food and eat, and responding to our questions about transportation and history! We would happily stay at this residence again!

Wonderful memories of this stay

From start to finish, this wa an excellent experience. Sebastiano and his wife Elsa went above and beyond to extend a warm welcome and to make sure we had everything we needed. They are proud of their town snd their appartment and they should be. We LOVED our stay in Ortigia. The location of the apartment was ideal. Our host was charming and quite simply outstanding. Sebastiano made us feel welcome and at home. He provided an excellent orientation to the apartment, recommended an exceptional assortment of fine restaurants and helped ensure that we enjoyed our stay. He was always available and quick to assist in any eventuality including the loss of a credit card. We arrived as his guests and left as friends.

Wonderful apartment

The owners had fresh fruit, cookies, orange juice, and waters waiting for us! We were delighted to stay in the apartment one block from the sea! It had everything we needed to do our own cooking and it was immaculate! Sleeping was available on the main level, but it was fun to walk up the spiral staircase to the upper bedroom with a skylight! It was very safe and secure, and we would definitely stay there again if we get the chance to go back to Ortegia! The very friendly hosts were so helpful in answering any of our questions!

Good morning Elisabeth. In the description of the house on the web site, It Is clearly stated that the spiral staircase to access the double bed Is small (but in all cases It has been used without any big problem from the majority of people that stayed in the house). I don't understand what toilet problema you are refering to. Where you bothered by being asked to trow only dirty toilet paper in the toilet? You can certainly make your own Judigments about the house. It makes me sad though. It wasn' onest and fair to tell me that everything was fine during your stay and instead reading this negative rewiew . I hawe always been at hand during your stay for any problem you might have encountered and of only you had brought It to my attention and asked me to solve It. Best Regards, Sebastiano

Quels Hôtes, mon DIEU, quels hôtes FORMIDABLES !!!Prévenants, adorables, d'une gentillesse incomparable, super réactif ! Nous avons voyagé avec notre fils handicapé ; Elsa et Sebastiano l'ont "adopté" comme un fils. Elsa et Sebastiano nous ont offert ce qui ne s'achètera jamais : leurs COEURS.Un énorme merci. Appartement Ortigia

Séjour d'une semaine début août 2013 L’ appartement est très joliment meublé et très agréable à vivre. La chambre en mezzanine est vraiment sympa. L'appartement est aussi très pratique d’utilisation, tout y est. Grâce à la Climatisation il y fait bon malgré la chaleur extérieure. Ne pas hésiter à choisir cet appartement ! Concernant sa situation, elle est idéale sur l’ïle d ‘Ortigia déjà car il y tellement à faire ne serait-ce que flâner dans ses rues pittoresques ombragées. La plage juste à côté à 10mn à pied (celle de dalles rocheuses) offre un spectacle de poissons différents incroyable. Le soir l’île est très animée, si on ne doit pas coucher les enfants tôt, il faut en profiter pour sortir. Les restaurants sur l’île sont aussi très bons à des prix très raisonnables. Les monuments historiques sont passionnants sur tout Syracuse, pas besoin d'aller bien loin. Le propriétaire est quelqu’un de très correct et chaleureux, sa femme est aussi très gentille. Il ne faut pas hésiter à faire appel au sympathique fils, qui est guide, pour des conseils de randonnées et même des randonnées à proprement parler car c’est son métier. Nous avons vraiment passé une semaine aussi reposante qu'intéressante, un excellent souvenir. Il est aussi très facile de se garer sur l'île d'Ortigia même, grâce au passe temporaire qu'on peut faire faire en avance et ce même en plein été. Pour le voyage, il est très pratique d'y aller par le ferry, Gênes-Palerme, 1000euros AR une voiture 3 personnes (avec cabine).

Great host

The property is located near the center of the tourist area which is within short walking distance to the restaurants and waterfront. It is tucked in an area is quiet during the day. There is a small restaurant nearby which is open only at night. There can be some noise from the customers, but it is as can be expected staying near the center of activities. The area around the property is very clean. The property itself is eclectically decorated and well equipped with everything a traveler would need. The bedroom is at the attic level so one would need to manage a circular stairway. The host Sebastiano was very friendly, and we had very good communications. He was flexible and responsive. We had to change my travel plan and we were able to come to a mutual agreement. We had an issue with the bathroom and Sebastiano took care of it right away. He prepared some fruit and bottled water for us when we arrived. It was obvious that Sebastiano tried to make sure that we had a pleasant stay at his property, and we had.

Lovely, characterful flat

Sebastiano's small home was packed with character and a very convenient base for explorations in the wider area. He couldn't have been more helpful as a host, providing us with plenty of advice and local travelling tips. Highly recommended, an authentic Syracusian experience!

Fantastic house in the great location

We had an amazing time in this very pretty atmosphere house located 2 min from Dom Square and 2 min from Fountain of Arethusa and a little beach. The house is clean and comfortable with all amenities needed, including a small terrasse. The host, Sebastiano is a very caring and kind person, we enjoyed our communication and will definitely recommend this unique place!

We had an excellent stay! Our hosts were extremely accommodating and kind.

We enjoyed our entire stay & couldn’t have been happier with our VRBO. Mr. and Mrs. Previti thought of everything a guest might need. We wish we had read somewhere that the only place to park was in a general large lot as we originally tried to drive to our VRBO. Once we understood how to get there, we couldn’t have been more pleased. We highly recommend this VRBO

Ortigia delight

The couple who ran this apartment were wonderful. He took the time to help my husband find parking and explain the island. He recommended the best gelato that we had probably for our entire time in Sicily. They also left fruit and eggs for us just in case we needed it. I took a star off for the loft bedroom. It could be hard for anyone who has mobility issues. There is also only one TV in the other bedroom. Please note that if you do drive it is approximately one kilometer from where you park. Overall, nice apartment.
