Escape to a cozy cabin in Frog Pond NC for a pleasant retreat. This 3-bedroom cabin offers a variety of sleeping arrangements, including a bunk bed (twin over a full bed), queen bed, and king bed. With amenities like a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer combo, iron and ironing board, electric fireplace, outside fire pit, gas grill and WiFi, where guests can relax and unwind. The 2 bathrooms feature showers and hair dryers for added convenience. Enjoy Big Bear Creek for swimming, fishing, or even panning for gold when you stay at our place. This was such a cozy stay! We were in town visiting family and my toddlers, who could not be consoled the first half of the trip wanting to go home, loved it here! Finally they were able to go to sleep without crying and felt so comfortable. Every room was clean with the softest sheets and a ton of blankets to keep warm under. There's a little stream beside the property and a creek across the street with many other parks and amusements within a short drive. Loved the stay and can't wait to visit again!

This rental is absolutely wonderful! The property has stunning views of the surrounding landscape with plenty of privacy. At night, you also get a gorgeous view of the stars without the light pollution interfering. Inside is beautifully decorated and spotless. Getting to the property was very smooth, not a long drive off the highway. It was also easy to find via GPS. The outdoor area of the property was really nice and was able to accommodate multiple vehicles. There was a beautiful patio area as well that was a lovely place for us to hang out. The house itself was very clean and had plenty of amenities. We were very grateful for all of the dish-ware and the snacks and wine. Seated on an up and coming vineyard, it was the perfect place for a group of friends to spend a weekend as we celebrated a wedding. The hosts were great to work with and were very quick to respond to any of our questions. We couldn’t recommend this place enough!

We are Andy and BJ Barbee. After retiring, we chose to move back to Stanly County to invest in the next generation—and that mission is at the heart of everything we do.

Our Vrbo property is part of a larger vision called The Vineyard at Big Bear Creek, LLC, a 33-acre property that includes a managed tree farm, a muscadine grape vineyard, and plans for a future events and wedding venue.

More than just a beautiful getaway, this place is rooted in purpose. Our mission is simple yet powerful:

“Helping kids and young adults realize that it CAN be done!

Basic Steps: Curiosity to Question, Courage to Learn, and Confidence to Achieve.”


Once complete, our events venue will host a variety of youth-focused programs such as:

Summer Drama Camp – promoting teamwork and public speaking
Academic Tutoring – supporting excellence in education
Ask the Pros – seminars led by local tradespeople
Basic Financial Acumen – teaching the foundations of smart money habits

Through these programs, we hope to provide the building blocks for young people to lead confident, capable, and meaningful lives.
