An off-putting first message started my stay off on a bad foot. Host was not welcoming in the least and instead launched into a laundry list of rules that needed to be followed. While I understand itâs necessary information to divulge to a guest, itâs a turn-off when itâs the first interaction. I was actually staying at the property because my own STR (in which I live) was being rented, so Iâm not unfamiliar with the business side of this. The townhouse is okay. The exterior is very rundown, but the interior is updated to a certain level. Itâs cheaply furnished/outfitted with dollar store decor and inexpensive linens, furniture, etc. As of right now though, everything is in fair condition. However, I imagine deterioration will happen quickly. The home is in an undesirable part of Waldorf, though it is close to the necessities. It is also somewhat loud as you can hear neighbors on two sides. There were definite issues with cleanliness. I arrived to trash in the yard, dirty dishes in the sink, an unloaded dishwasher and someone elseâs underwear in a laundry basket. This information, along with images, was sent to the host who did admit sheâd address them with her cleaner. Itâs a property that can sleep six, but could only comfortably seat 2-4 people in communal spaces. (The couch could seat two and the dining table four.) Consider your group size before you rent.
