These bugs are common in the Smoky Mountain area at this time of year and are not dangerous, but they can be a nuisance. It is incredible for those who love to nature-watch, but may not be for everyone.
Please keep doors and windows closed whenever possible to help prevent them from entering the home. Use the screen doors if youâd like to enjoy fresh air. Additionally, avoid leaving the porch or deck lights on when not in use to reduce flying insects near the home.
If you encounter these indoors, gently catch and release them outdoors, or use a tissue to remove them. Thank you for helping minimize the presence of bugs inside the home.
