Entering the home was a bit tricky because the steps to the keypad door were loose and could have easily broken under foot. The house was amazing, clean, beautiful and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay!

My husband, two of our young adult daughters, our two dogs and I had a lovely stay at Allegan Gardens. The house is charming, and the owner has added so many details to make this feel like something more than just another vacation house rental. We really enjoyed the outdoor space and took full advantage of the pool, the grill, patio and fire pit area.It's a very short drive into downtown Saugutuck and all of its dining and shopping offerings, plus plenty of spots to sit by the river and watch the boats go by.All in all, just the relaxing stay we were looking for.

Great house!

First, I have to say this is the best appointed house I’ve ever stayed in through VRBO! They have everything you need! The house is large and beautifully decorated and was perfect for our girlfriend getaway. The beds were super comfy, as was the furniture in the living room. And plenty of room around the big farmhouse table in the dining room. It’s in a great location if you are exploring the area, easy to get anywhere from the house, very close to downtown Saugatuck. The owner was very communicative throughout the entire process. My only complaint in that department is that we didn’t find out until arriving that landscapers and the pool maintenance company are there on Tuesdays. Now, if we had booked the week, that wouldn’t be an issue. But we were only there two days. If we had known that in advance, we probably would have picked different days to be there. We really were planning on spending most of our time by the pool, catching up. It worked out, just would have been nice to know that in advance. Overall, a great place and we will be back.

Great house with a pool

We had a great time stay at Allegan Gardens. The owner was very responsive and helped us with all of our questions. The kitchen was well-supplied and the backyard is very nice. There were a few places for improvement : some koi ponds in the backyard that had stagnant water, which were a hazard to my pets . And also the wood steps by the entryway seemed to be unsafe from deteriorating wood. We used another entrance to be safe.Overall a really nice place to stay!

Perfect weekend getaway!

If you are looking for a relaxing weekend away, look no further! We had a great time and would love to go back when it is a little warmer to see the gardens and use the pool. The hosts have really thought of everything you need. Beautiful home.

Spacious, Charming, and Dog-Friendly—A Perfect Stay in Saugatuck!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming 1910's home in Saugatuck! The house is full of character, beautifully maintained, and impressively spacious. It was spotless upon arrival, and we appreciated the thoughtful amenities that made our stay even more comfortable.One of the biggest highlights was that they welcomed dogs, which made it a perfect getaway for our whole family. The home is well-equipped with everything you need, and the combination of historical charm with modern conveniences makes for a fantastic experience.If you're looking for a clean, cozy, and pet-friendly home with plenty of space, this is definitely the place to stay! We’d love to return in the future.

Lovely Weekend Stay

Beautiful property, well stocked and decorated. Could use a deep clean inside and out. Not surprising given that the property is dog friendly and it’s the end of the season. Some more lighting in the backyard would be helpful from a safety standpoint.

Family Vacation

We have stayed here for several years. It is our once a year family vacation. It is so comfortable here and so close to so many thi gs to do. Aaron is easy to reach and very responsive. Everyone in the family is always eager to come back. Heated pool is great!! the heated pool is just fantastic

Comfort, convenience, privacy - just right

Wanted a few days away for quiet time, walkable waterfront, window shopping and outdoor space for our dog. We found it and really enjoyed our stay. Aaron (owner) was most communicative of any property owner we've known so far; very helpful especially when navigating a road construction necessitated drive-around to get to the property (only added 7 minutes). Plenty of room so we might have a future family/SO's stayover in the future. Would love to stay when warmer, sunnier weather prevails and grounds are in their fully glory. Highly recommend.

Another great vacation

We have stayed at Allegan Gardens for several years now, and it is always great. Close to town, but very private. Our family always enjoys the pool. The host is easily reached if we need anything, and his response time is quick. It is a great place to stay with our children and our grandchildren.
