This suite is attached to the owner’s home. However, Jodi and her husband were nothing like the funny commercial on TV where the host was super intrusive and annoying. But what was nice about having them near was when we needed help with something Jodi was there to help almost immediately. We had all the privacy we wanted. The unit was super clean and I can’t say enough about how comfortable the king-sized bed was. And the pillows too! We were close to downtown Traverse City but far enough to be an amazingly quiet neighborhood. Our hostess was pleasant and sweet. We felt very safe in this area.

Nicel long weekend in TC

Everything was exactly as advertised. The property owner, Jodi, is very attentive and has even created a nice short video to assist with arrival. The unit is freshly decorated and very clean. The location is great - far enough out of downtown to escape the busy, but close enough to walk if you wanted.

We had a very nice 3-day stay at this property. Owner was very responsive and easy to contact. Very QUIET, which was lovely for us! Close to lots of things to do: Wineries, restaurants, hiking and walking paths, etc.

Felt Like Visiting Friends – Not Just a VRBO!

We had an amazing long weekend getaway in Traverse City and can’t say enough good things about our stay! From the moment we booked, Jody and Norm were phenomenal hosts—responsive, detailed, and genuinely welcoming. Their guest guidebook had everything we needed, and they even had the bikes ready a week early so we could enjoy a peaceful ride to breakfast.The home itself is charming, modern, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The location is ideal—just a few blocks from the social district and approximately a mile from Front Street, making it easy to enjoy local restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. And if you're planning to visit the wineries on Old Mission Peninsula, it's a straight and scenic drive.A special shoutout to their sweet pup Yzie—she’ll become your best friend if you’re willing to toss the ball a few times! We even enjoyed a friendly evening spending time with Jody and Norm over a bottle of wine, just chatting and getting to know each other. They are truly wonderful people who go above and beyond to make your stay memorable.We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Safe, warm, and cozy

I had a very enjoyable stay. I love Traverse City in the winter; it's so beautiful. Jody and Norm were amazing hosts, giving thought to every detail of the stay. The fireplace was a nice, inviting touch. Everything was modern and nicely decorated but had a homey feeling as well. I would highly recommend Hospitality by the Bay and would stay again when traveling to TC!

our suite was wonderfully set up and ready for us. Beautiful, clean facilities and comfortable couch and bed. Perfectly located to bike or walk downtown or drive up on Mission Peninsula. We definitely want to come back.

Fantastic stay at this gem in Traverse City! The owners clearly care about making sure everything is just right for those staying with them, attending to seemingly small things like providing detailed instructions about use of tv and thermostat, to the much bigger things like providing great recs for places to go and restaurants to try. The room itself is spacious and the bed so comfortable. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Many thanks!

We love living in Traverse City and we love to travel. One thing we've learned through travelling is how much we like staying with or meeting someone who knows the lay of the land. We enjoy beach time, dining out, great music, having fun with friends, and meeting new people. Bay Town Suite is our way of creating a business that capitalizes on our interests and expertise, while allowing us the freedom to enjoy and share the beauty of Traverse City.

-Jody is a 26 year veteran middle school teacher in Traverse City. She is the "CEO" of Bay Town Suite/Studio (great summer job!)
-Norm is semi-retired and living his best life with our wonder pup Yzie. He delivers mail on Mondays, and is Bay Town Suite/Studio property maintenance, co-manager, and fixer of everything.
