The Little Brick House - Walkable to the Square Dining & Shopping

Welcome to this charming home near the downtown square of Winterset, Iowa. Known for The Bridges of Madison County, this town offers so much to do in a weekend. Our little town offers two wineries, two taprooms, a cidery, a brewery, a meadery and a Speakeasy. Many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors on the sweet little front porch of this home, shopping the square (just 4 blocks away), visiting bridges, hiking the Winterset City Park 2 mile loop or a picnic by the quiet Cedar Lake.

This bungalow was just recently remodeled and provides a peaceful retreat! The primary bedroom has a king bed, tv and attached half bath. The 2nd bedroom features a "cloffice" for office use or cosmetic & hair purposes. It has a day bed with trundle (see photos). There is a full bathroom in between the bedrooms. The living room features a 65" TV. The kitchen has a Keurig with K-cups included or bring your own favorite flavor. Kitchen is stocked with dishes, utensils and pots/pans. Currently the yard is being reworked, however the front porch is a darling space to enjoy coffee or wine!

An absolutely wonderful place to stay. Comfortable beds, great living room space to relax, and although we didn't really use the kitchen, it was one of the best stocked ones in all of our stays in VRBOs. Definitely will stay here again when in the area!

From the ease of booking and checkin this quaint bungalow was a fantastic find. Perfectly located in such a walkable fun town and lots of things to do. The house is perfectly appointed with just the right amount of furniture and amenities
it has the most comfortable beds and a completely home like feel. I will definitely book this house again and again whenever I make the trip to Iowa! The host Rochelle goes above and beyond and provides so much information on the area. Top notch service!

This was an amazing house to rent. It was super cute and clean. It was walkable to the downtown. We stayed during the Bridges of Madison County festival and we were able to walk there. The host was great at communicating. I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Winterset.

This was a very clean, recently updated house in an excellent location near downtown. The furnishings, decorations, and kitchen furnishings were perfect. The second bedroom only has a twin day bed with a lower twin bed that pulls out. This was disclosed and it was comfortable. Overall a great property and recommend for parties of 4 or less.

My friend and I both recently lost our husbands to cancer, we met at this lovely little house to grieve, share, and heal. The house made us both feel at home. We chose the following words to describe this spot: charming, warm, homey, whimsical, clean, comfortable, chic. Rochelle was an attentive host, leaving us a note about recommendations of things to do in the area and alerting us to what was open each day of our weekend. This little brick house is big in comfort and warmth and reflects the warmth of the host.

Oh my goodness where do I begin?Very clean, beautifully updated bungalow with all the charm possible! All the basic things you need for a stay are available, one of the BEST stocked kitchen with not only utensils but cooking basics. Comfortable king bed (only 2 of us) but both bedrooms lovely! LOVED the 1/2 bath right off the King room!! And the kitchen nook? a sweet place to have coffee and watch all the birds, squirrels :0) Table also has a tray with all the local tour and eatery information for review.Location is perfect to the square and most attractions, easy walk from the neighborhood. We really enjoyed eating at The Drift (Meaghan was great!!) & the pastries from Petite.Last, but certainly not least, Rochelle is a very attentive, friendly, and kind host, a guest couldn't ask for better! We will be back...we came for a wedding but who knew Winterset was a find!! Thank you Rochelle!
