Escape to the Wallowas in this charming, single-story retreat set between mountain views and the Wallowa River. Located at the south end of Wallowa Lake, this cozy, wood-paneled home offers the perfect base for hiking, fishing, skiing, lake days, and year-round outdoor adventure.

You’ll be close to top local attractions, including the Wallowa Lake Tramway (rising to 8,200-foot Mt. Howard), the Wallowa Lake Trailhead, and Wallowa Lake State Park with its swimming beach, picnic areas, and fishing access. In winter, Ferguson Ridge Ski Area is only 16 miles away.

Outdoor Living
Start your morning with coffee on the spacious front deck, taking in mountain and riverside views. After a day exploring, fire up the propane or gas BBQ, enjoy a meal at the outdoor dining table, or relax while kids play on the backyard play structure. The deck is dog-friendly and can safely contain up to two dogs. An ADA-accessible ramp connects the driveway to the deck.

Interior Comfort
Inside, the home is warm and inviting. Cozy up by the wood-burning fireplace, stream a movie, or gather around for board games. The fully equipped kitchen includes cookware, utensils, and dining essentials, plus a portable dishwasher for easy cleanup.

A dedicated office/bonus room provides a quiet workspace with a desk, chair, extra lighting, and high-speed internet—an inspiring space that has hosted everything from remote work to published writing (including a PhD thesis and a nonfiction book). A private washer and dyer located in a bedroom add convenience for longer stays.

Exactly as described and we had everything we needed to enjoy our weekend. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and a few spices if needed. Close to everything near the lake

Easy check-in/out. Host was prompt to answer questions. Kitchen is not convenient given the refrigerator is in a separate room and dishwasher has to be physically moved and manually hooked up to use. House appears much bigger in the listing photos than in reality, actual living space is very small. Area is stunning, enjoyed our stay and all the wildlife.

My daughter and I stayed at the property while my son and his family camped at the campground. We hosted several family meals at the house, and there was enough room to fill our plates at the kitchen bar and then go to the large patio to eat. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the pots and pans I needed for cooking. The beds were comfortable. We appreciated having the internet. The property worked well for our needs. We’d stay there again if we plan another trip to Lake Wallowa.

I appreciated the ramp entrance as an option to the steps. The property was equipped with all the necessary tools to prepare meals making it very convenient. It was a short walk to the coffeehouse for the coffee connoisseurs. We had an opportunity to see several deer families during our stay. A local bonus.

Living in the city this was a great relaxation no cars zooming past your house 24/7 no sirens all time night and day. And a really GREAT thing NO BARKING DOGS! Each morning we woke up, the camp robbers knocking on the front door window wanting their breakfast no joke they actually flew up to the window and tapped on it. Watching the deer walk thru the neighborhood. Mom 3 fawns and papa. We had one deer standing outside by sons bedroom window. We rented a boat and did the lake for two hours. Then the boys did the go carts. Wife and older son did the tram and of course finished with the miniature golf. I will say the only hard part was finding somewhere to have breakfast at 9am no one was open.

House smelled of strong urine. Opening windows for hours with fans did not cure it. The smell seems to permeate the carpets. Bedding smelled of nicotine.House attendant did not not answer multiple texts and calls.
