À propos de cet hébergement
1BR Sleep 3 PALO DURO CANYON Cabin Firepit Pet OK
Summary:
A one-bedroom red cabin on our Palo Duro Canyon Base Camp compound near Canyon, TX. Sleeps 3, with a fire pit out back for cooler nights, a BBQ grill for cookouts, and pet-friendly policies with prior approval. Built for a couple, a solo canyon trip, or a small family using the cabin as a basecamp for Palo Duro Canyon, Pioneer Amphitheatre, and Amarillo. Stand-alone stay, or pair with another cabin or the main home on the compound for a larger group booking.
The Space:
The Red Cabin is one of our stand-alone tiny cabins on the compound. One bedroom, one bathroom, one bed, comfortable for 3 guests. The interior leans rustic with warm tones and modern comforts in equal measure, sized for someone who wants a quiet basecamp rather than a hotel room.
Inside, you will find a comfortable bedroom for a restful night, a full bathroom, and an open living space with a flat-screen TV and wireless internet. A small kitchen handles light cooking and morning coffee. Air conditioning and heating are in place for both summer afternoons and winter cold fronts. Bed linens and towels are stocked, along with a hair dryer and hangers.
Outside is where this cabin earns its keep: a private fire pit for evening cookouts and stargazing, a BBQ grill for steaks and burgers, and the kind of Texas Panhandle sky that pulls people out of the cabin after sunset. The compound around the cabin is acreage at the edge of Palo Duro Canyon, so the quiet runs deep at night.
The Red Cabin is pet-friendly with prior approval and a pet fee. Smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detector, and fire extinguisher are on site for safety.
If your group is bigger than 3, the Red Cabin pairs with our other cabins, the tiny home, the airstream, the main house, or the bunker on the same compound. The full property is available as one booking for groups up to 28.
Guest Access:
You will have private access to the Red Cabin, the fire pit, the BBQ grill, and the parking area for the cabin. Self check-in. We send access details, a parking map, and a short orientation a day before arrival so the trip can start with a fire and a quiet first evening.
The Neighborhood:
We sit in Canyon, TX, the small town built around Palo Duro Canyon. The main park entrance off State Highway 217 is a short drive from our gate, which puts the Lighthouse Trail, the rim road, and Pioneer Amphitheatre easy day-of choices. The TEXAS Outdoor Musical runs Tuesday through Sunday at 8pm from June through August at the amphitheatre, which sits inside the park. Downtown Canyon has the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, West Texas A&M University, and a handful of local BBQ and Tex-Mex spots within a few miles. Amarillo is a short drive north on I-27 for the Big Texan Steak Ranch and Cadillac Ranch off I-40. Days are canyon trails and quiet porches. Nights are fire-pit smoke and an open Texas sky.
Getting Around:
A rental car is required. Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (AMA) is the closest commercial airport, with a straightforward drive south on I-27 to Canyon, then west on Country Club Road. Rideshare options in Canyon are limited. Parking is on the property.
Other Things to Note:
This is a tiny cabin on a working rural compound at the edge of the canyon. The fire pit is open-air, so check wind conditions before lighting and keep an eye on burn bans during dry stretches. Cell signal varies by carrier on the acreage, so wifi calling is helpful. Pets must be supervised on the unfenced shared acreage.
Interaction with Guests:
We respect your privacy. No one is on site full-time. Our team is on call from early morning to late evening Texas time and typically responds within an hour during the day. Message us through the booking platform for anything from a thermostat question to a recommendation for canyon trails.
