We loved this little oasis in Anchorage. So close to the airport in a very nice neighborhood. Close to everything but with the little lake and the mountain views it felt like we were really in Alaska. Sandhill cranes wandered through the backyard one morning and a moose came through the next. We used the firepit every night and it was relaxing and beautiful. We used this as our base camp and took day trips to Seward to kayak, Whittier to hike to the Portage Glacier and lots of hikes and bike rides in between. We would recommend biking along the Tony Knowles Intercoastal Trail, The Alaskan Sights and Bites Food Tour (lots of history and great outdoor art, fun food), hikes to Thunderbird Falls and Bird Creek Falls. Great breweries and brewhouses all over the city. The BBQ in the backyard was fabulous - used it every night. We ate breakfast and dinner at the table outside every day. As much as we have used VRBO for trips all over we have not stayed in one connected to the host's house. I admit we were a little nervous. We needn't have been. Very private and we had the backyard and firepit and little lake all to ourselves. Highly recommend this bright, clean, airy space with everything you could want!
