Welcome to Dodo's Place!
Enjoy a cozy, spacious studio-style tiny home surrounded by 22 acres of peaceful Texas countryside just outside Smithville.
Dodo's Place comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests. The main living area includes a comfortable full-size bed, while two twin beds are located in the loft. The open layout makes this a great option for couples, families, or friends looking for a relaxing country getaway.
Inside, you'll find a fully stocked kitchen, private bathroom, Wi-Fi, streaming TV, air conditioning and heating, and a dedicated workspace. Whether you're here for a weekend getaway or need a quiet place to work remotely, you'll have the comforts you need to settle in and relax.
Outside, enjoy your porch, hot tub, fire pit, and the peaceful surroundings of Country Way Ranch. Guests are welcome to explore the 22-acre property, including the trails and open spaces. You may see our three goats, free-range chickens, or other wildlife during your stay.
A few things to know before booking:
Dodo's Place is located on a shared 22-acre rural property. The owners live on-site, along with a long-term renter, and there is another cottage on the property. You will have your own space at Dodo's Place and its designated outdoor area, but the larger property is shared and you may see other people during your stay.
Dodo's Place is a studio-style tiny home with a loft, not a traditional home with separate enclosed bedrooms. The full-size bed is in the main living area and the two twin beds are in the loft.
The property is reached by a dirt country road. It is normally easy to drive, but rainy weather can make the road muddy or rough.
And yes, this is the country! You may encounter insects, birds, goats, chickens, wildlife, and other country critters. We work hard to keep Dodo's Place clean and comfortable, but when you're surrounded by nature, an occasional bug, leaf, or bit of dirt can sometimes make its way inside.
We take pride in preparing Dodo's Place for every guest and do our best to make sure everything is clean and ready for your arrival. If you notice anything during your stay that needs attention, please let us know. We're always happy to help.

Clean, cozy, and the hosts went the extra mile for us. They had small birthday decor and a card set up when we arrived for my bf’s birthday. It was such a sweet unexpected gesture.

My brother and I were taking a trip to visit Sherwood Forest for the weekend. Dodo's place was the perfect tiny home nestled in the woods. The AC was cool, the beds comfy, and the shower warm. Our bonus was a visit from some friendly hens in the morning before we exited. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away.

We enjoy sharing our little piece of Texas with guests and helping them feel comfortable and welcome during their stay. We're nearby if you need us, but we also respect your space and want you to enjoy your getaway at your own pace.

We chose this area because it gives us the best of both worlds — peaceful country living while still being close to Smithville and everything it has to offer. We love the trees, open spaces, wildlife, and quiet surroundings of the country, but it's nice to be just a short drive from downtown Smithville, local restaurants, shops, and small-town charm. It's a great place to slow down, relax, and enjoy a little Texas countryside.
