This cute little house has a lot of potential, but when we arrived there was no hot water available anywhere and none of the showers had water pressure. We contacted the host to let them know, understanding nothing could be done the first night as we arrived late. The next day someone was supposed to fix the issue, but didn't arrive until much later in the day, and the host was unwilling to push for a timely resolution for the problem until we reached out to Vrbo support. Once Vrbo support was engaged everything went smoothly and the plumbing was fixed same day, but it left us with a poor experience. The host seems new to rental properties, so given some time and experience it may become a neat place to stay, as the location was nice and the home itself felt freshly renovated and comfortable once the water issues were resolved. We also were not pleased with the fact that the host required us to carry damage insurance, especially once we realized it was an older home and had a few quirks to start with.

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing stay, and I would not recommend this property to anyone visiting the Chicago area.To start, the home was not particularly clean, and there were bugs throughout the property. On top of that, the overall experience with the homeowner and property management was incredibly frustrating.Upon arrival, the digital keypad wasn't working. We were told someone would come out to fix it the following day. Someone eventually showed up while we were out, but rather than actually repairing the keypad, they simply left batteries for us to replace ourselves. This wasn't a straightforward battery swap, as it required tools.Later, when we experienced an issue with being locked out of the property, the response was even more disappointing. Rather than offering any meaningful assistance or taking responsibility for the faulty keypad, we were essentially told it was our fault and that we needed to figure it out ourselves. The only solution offered was to send a locksmith at our expense. After several frustrating hours, we eventually managed to get back inside on our own.Throughout the stay, the homeowner seemed completely disengaged and deferred all communication to the property manager, who was equally unhelpful. There was very little accountability, urgency, or genuine concern for our experience as guests. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you're planning to stay in this area.
