The Space:

This is our home and we invite guests to enjoy it when we can not. This is a very special property in a special place; private, exclusive Gerrish Island on the coast of Kittery Point, Maine. It has two acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in a wooded setting, and is a short walk (less than 1/2 mile) to a private neighborhood beach, Crescent Beach!



We ask that all guests are respectful of our neighbors and community. This is a quiet neighborhood. Although you can not see the neighbors from our yard, they are just beyond the trees!



Our home sleeps 6 people. (NO MORE) Perfect for a family or a group of friends. There is parking for 3 cars in the driveway.



We will consider well behaved pets. ALL PETS MUST BE PRE-APPROVED by hosts. The back yard is fully fenced, a perfect set up for well behaved pets!



Guest Access:

Guests have access to the main house (first and second floor), as well as the driveway and property. The basement and room over the garage will be left locked during the guest's stay.



The Neighborhood:

Beaches (Crescent, Seapoint); State Parks (Fort Foster, Fort McClary) all within walking distance; hip, hot Kittery Foreside featuring great restaurants, bars and shops only 3 miles away; historic, charming Portsmouth, NH with even more restaurants, bars, shops only five miles away; the beach towns of York, Maine (3 miles away) and Ogunquit, Maine (10 miles away). The Kittery Outlets feature world-class shopping and are only 4 miles away. Boston is just over an hour south, and Portland, Maine is 45 minutes north on I-95.



Getting Around:

Kittery Point is a great area for walking and biking, but a car is necessary for getting around. Taxi services are available but not always consistent. The Pease Tradeport/Transportation Center in Portsmouth features bus service to Boston and New York City.



Other Things to Note:

AIR CONDITIONING: The house has window air conditioners in each bedroom, but does NOT have central AC.



HOT TUB: Although we have regularly scheduled maintenance from the hot tub company, the USE OF THE HOT TUB IS NOT GUARANTEED DURING YOUR STAY. We appreciate your help in following the hot tub rules, keeping the tub covered when not in use, showering before each use, being cautious not to spill any drinks or foreign substances in the tub.. Taking these actions will make your stay and next guests' stay much more enjoyable!



SMART TVS: The house has 3 smart TVs. Each TV provides access to Netflix. Please download any other streaming apps you'd like to use during your stay.



POWER OUTAGES: The beautiful rugged coastline of Maine can also come with some adventure. As with many Maine homes, power outages may occur, especially during strong storms. We provide emergency supplies like flashlights, a first aid kit, emergency snow shovels, and bottled water to ensure your comfort. We are also quick to recommend local community buildings, cafes and restaurants in town that have power, if we do not. These outages can last a few hours or longer, depending on the cause. We do not offer weather related refunds outside of our cancellation policy so you may consider purchasing trip cancellation insurance for your travels in case you do need to cancel last minute. That being said, we do our best to be reasonable in extended power outages.
