À propos de cet hébergement

Davis Outpost: Pet-Friendly Quiet Cabin w/ AC. Screened Sunroom. Walk to Trails

Ready to "D.O." Acadia? Welcome to Davis Outpost, a ruggedly intentional cabin brought to you by the local experts at Acadia’s Edge. This space is designed specifically for travelers who prioritize immediate trail access over tourist crowds.

Skip the park’s notorious parking stress entirely. From here, you are an eight-minute walk to the Quarry Trailhead and just steps from the local market for morning supplies. Inside, the aromatic pine-clad interior offers a simple, focused sanctuary to recharge after a day on the mountains.

THE OUTPOST PHILOSOPHY
Davis Outpost is a thoughtfully designed space built around one simple idea: maximizing your time in the wild. The open-concept interior features warm, aromatic pine walls and vaulted timber ceilings, creating a bright atmosphere that feels like a natural extension of the Maine woods.

The sleeping area, living space, and high-performance kitchenette are seamlessly integrated into one beautifully finished room—making it the perfect fit for a couple, solo explorer, and a hiking pup who travel light and live for the outdoors. At the Outpost, Acadia is your true living room; the cabin is simply the high-functioning, pet-friendly space where you rest, plan your next summit at the "Mission Control" desk, and fuel up for the trails.

LIVING AND ENTERTAINING
The main living area is a peaceful spot to wind down after a big day on the trails. Turn on the air conditioning to instantly cool down the cabin, settle into the comfortable seating, and browse a movie on the Roku Smart TV, or spread out your map to plan tomorrow's route with your pup resting at your feet.

The windows draw in the natural forest light, keeping the space feeling connected to the woods outside. High-speed Wi-Fi keeps you connected when you need it, though you will likely be too busy exploring the park to notice.

KITCHEN AND DINING
The kitchenette is thoughtfully set up for efficient trail living, featuring a small gas stove, microwave, and a compact mini-fridge that covers all the essentials for brewing morning coffee or packing a trail lunch.

For evenings when you want to enjoy a classic Maine BBQ under the trees, we provide a portable Coleman tabletop grill complete with propane canisters, which are stored inside and can be easily set up on the deck for an authentic al-fresco meal with your pup.

The versatile dining table comfortably seats two and doubles as a handy workspace for mapping out your next hike. If you need to stock up on basic provisions or trail snacks, the local market is just a convenient two-minute stroll from your door.

SLEEPING AND BATHROOM
The sleeping area features a cozy double (full) bed tucked into the heart of the cabin, giving you a snug, restful setup that suits the outpost lifestyle perfectly. This is a standard Full size rather than a Queen or King, making it the perfect fit for a couple comfortable with a cozier sleep setup or a solo explorer.

The bathroom is a bright space with a rustic sliding barn-style door. It features a walk-in shower and a modern corner vanity along with plenty of fresh towels and essentials so you can wash off the trail dust and feel ready for whatever tomorrow brings.

THE PINE BREEZE ROOM (SCREENED-IN SUNROOM)
The signature Pine Breeze Room is one of the Outpost's most loved features. This screened-in living space lets you enjoy the sights and sounds of the Maine woods in complete comfort with fresh air, birdsong, and the rustle of pines—all entirely bug-free. Whether it is a slow morning coffee, a midday rest between hikes, or unwinding with your four-legged friend as the sun drops behind the trees, this is the space you will keep coming back to. Experience the forest from the comfort of your own private outdoor retreat.

MISSION CONTROL (OFFICE & WORKSPACE)
Adventure requires a plan. Our dedicated Mission Control nook is a sunlit corner designed for the modern explorer. Equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, it is the perfect spot to spread out your maps, download trail data, or edit the day’s photos while the forest rustles just outside. If you must check in with the office, this quiet space ensures you can handle business quickly. Clear your inbox, shut the laptop, and get right back to what you came here to do: "D.O." Acadia.

OUTDOOR SPACES
The living space expands outdoors with a private wraparound deck, creating a seamless connection to the quiet Maine woods. This leafy area is ideal for easy al-fresco evenings using the portable Coleman tabletop grill or just sitting back to enjoy some relaxation under the stars.

While the property includes a partially fenced yard for added privacy within the Otter Creek community, the perimeter is not fully enclosed. This pet-friendly retreat offers a rare opportunity for four-legged hiking companions to enjoy the outdoors, though a leash or run is required to ensure they remain safely within the property boundaries.

The cabin also includes a private driveway with space for two vehicles—a major perk in a region where parking is often the single biggest stressor of an Acadia vacation.

ATTENTION OTHER THINGS TO NOTE!

OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE
The Davis Outpost is a true studio cabin with a compact footprint, designed specifically for explorers who travel light and appreciate a highly efficient trail setup. While the surrounding neighborhood is a close-quarters community, the atmosphere remains remarkably quiet and peaceful, offering a calm retreat after a day on the trails.

TECH & CONNECTIVITY
Cell service can be patchy in certain pockets of Otter Creek. To keep you seamlessly connected, the cabin features reliable high-speed Wi-Fi and a landline phone, ensuring you can easily make calls, download trail maps, and navigate the island during your stay.

CLIMATE CONTROL
To keep you comfortable after a long, active day in the elements, the cabin is equipped with air conditioning and fans to easily regulate the temperature and keep the interior crisp and cool.

NEIGHBORHOOD HIGHLIGHTS

THE INSIDER'S ACADIA
Otter Creek is one of those places that feels like a secret the locals have been keeping to themselves, and Davis Outpost sits right in the middle of it. It is a quiet coastal enclave completely surrounded by Acadia National Park.

An eight-minute walk puts you at the Quarry Trail trailhead and directly into the park's interconnected trail network. On peak summer days when main entrances are backed up, you will simply step out your front door and start your hike.

FOOT & TRANSIT LOGISTICS
You can easily leave your keys behind for the day:

Local Provisions: The local market is just a convenient two-minute stroll from your door for basic provisions and trail snacks.

Island Explorer Shuttle: The free seasonal shuttle stops just two minutes away on foot, connecting you directly to downtown Bar Harbor and trailheads across the island without touching your car.

DRIVING DISTANCES FROM THE OUTPOST

Sand Beach: A quick 9-minute drive to Acadia's most popular stretch of shoreline.

Downtown Bar Harbor: 10 minutes down the road for the supermarket, coastal dining, and shopping.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

THE ONLY VILLAGE ENTIRELY WITHIN ACADIA
Here is our favorite local secret: Otter Creek is the only village on Mount Desert Island that is 100% surrounded by Acadia National Park. When you stay at Davis Outpost, you aren’t just "near" the park—you are living on a quiet pocket of private land nestled entirely within the park’s boundaries.

THE DOORSTEP ADVANTAGE
Step out your front door and you are an eight-minute walk from the Quarry Trail and the vast, interconnected Acadia trail network. This is a true hiker’s outpost—a bright, aromatic pine cabin designed specifically for travelers (and their four-legged hiking companions) who want to trade screen time for trail time.

THE ACADIA BACKDOOR
Staying here gives you a major strategic advantage. You are just down the road from the park's quieter southern entrances, giving you a literal backdoor route to Jordan Pond House, Seal Harbor, and the historic carriage roads. You can explore the island’s most iconic vistas and coastal villages without getting trapped in the main entrance traffic.

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Enjoy the deep, pine-scented silence of the Maine woods while staying only ten minutes from the dining and coastal charm of downtown Bar Harbor. Skip the traffic, ignore the parking meters, and start your summit right from your own private forest retreat. Come "D.O." Acadia from the inside out.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Our signature screened-in porch is the cabin’s standout feature. Immerse yourself in the scent of the pines and the sound of birdsong in complete, bug-free comfort—the perfect spot for morning coffee or a well-earned post-hike brew with your dog.

STRESS-FREE PARKING
We provide private driveway parking for two vehicles. In a region where parking is often the single biggest vacation stressor, having a guaranteed spot right at your front door is a major advantage.

THE ISLAND EXPLORER SHUTTLE
Leave the keys behind. You are just a short stroll from the free seasonal Island Explorer shuttle stop. This transit system connects you to the entire island, allowing you to bypass park traffic and trailhead congestion entirely.

THE OUTPOST EXPERIENCE
Trade a cramped hotel room for intentional living. With vaulted timber ceilings and aromatic pine walls, the Outpost offers a bright, open atmosphere designed for maximum efficiency and deep relaxation after a long day on the trails.

PET-FRIENDLY ADVENTURE
At Davis Outpost, we believe the best hikes include four paws. We are proudly pet-friendly, ensuring your hiking companion can enjoy the fresh mountain air right alongside you in a shared outdoor space.
