Take leisurely walks to Short Sands Beach from this one-bedroom York cottage, a cozy Southern Maine escape with a dog-friendly interior, a lovely front deck, and an ideal location close to shops, eateries, and the Nubble Light.

You'll find this single-level home just north of Cape Neddick, and three miles from the center of downtown York. Walk half a mile south (only eight minutes on foot) to sunbathe and swim at Short Sands Beach, stroll two miles south to check out the surf at Long Sands Beach, and head two miles southeast to admire the iconic Nubble Light at the tip of Cape Neddick. Traveling with kids? Be sure to take them to nearby York Animal Kingdom for rides and zoo animals!

With exposed beam ceilings, an open floor plan, and plentiful seating, this cottage is full of casual charm. Wake up each morning to check the tides on the free WiFi, prepare breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen, and take your dogs for a walk to the nearby lighthouse (please note that a 20 lb., one-dog limit if not booking the full property).

First family vacation!

This was the perfect home in the perfect location for our first vacation with our 9 month old daughter and the best part was we could bring our pup too (he usually gets left out) thanks so much highly recommend this stay!

We truly enjoyed staying here and the place was decorated and the furniture was comfortable. Had a problem with finding a spot to plug in the CPAP machines and cell phones.

This cabin was close to town, convenient and clean. The yard, patio, and gas grill were extra perks. I’d stay here again.

This home we very clean and had everything one could need in the kitchen. The beds were most comfortable and the grill nice and clean. It was lovely to be able to walk the short walk to York Beach.

The cottage was absolutely adorable. Cozy clean, quiet. Great yard deck and fire pit for our outdoor activities. Safe location and incredibly convenient and quick walk downtown and the short hands beach. Easy to get into. Great instructions. One of my favorite rentals thus far. We will be back for sure!

The Sea Rose was a nice, comfortable cabin. The bathroom was up to date and clean. There were two full beds in the bedroom, which was great for us. The living/dining/ kitchen area was spacious with a really comfy and large couch. The kitchen space was good. Nice big clean fridge. Our only real issues were communication with the owner. We could not access any information about what was available for use in the cabin and was expected of us when we left. Also, it was cold while we were there and there was no working heat. My daughter was able to reach someone from either Vrbo or Vacasa who reached out to someone who found the caretaker who came and fixed the issue. The WiFi was iffy, which I’m sure is just location. We found out that there was a dvd player and were delighted. We would have brought our own movies, but we didn’t know there was one so we picked up a couple second hand ones. But, when we went to use it there was a cord missing.

Quick family getaway

We took our two toddlers with us on a family vacation for a few days to York Beach. The area was very quiet and overall pretty private. Great location as it was just a minute or two drive to the beach, could definitely be walking distance. My only issue was the overgrown rose bushes in the front and the screen door latch wasn’t clicking properly so that was a bit of an issue with toddlers. Other than that it was a great stay and hope to stay again sometime!

The property was perfect! Clean, quiet, cozy. Great yard, close to town and beach. Everything was great! Only thing was there were no trash bags and the tv was difficult. I would like to see them switch to steaming services. The water pressure is awesome. Everything was very clean and stocked. beds and couch are super comfortable. Fire pit and declare awesome !We will be back!!

Beds uncomfortable but location is great

The location is close to everything but we only stayed one out of 2 nights because we couldn’t handle the beds. The two in the bedroom were so soft you sank in and the two futons were as expected with the bar across the middle.

Sweet little cottage

This nice cottage is in a great location. Cute as can be outside, inside has beautiful wood trim and ceilings in the living area and a large bathroom. The couches and beds are not as comfortable as we like and are noisy with squeaking upon any movement. Otherwise it has great potential.

Wonderful Location for a fall getaway

We came up for UNH homecoming with our two German Shepherds. The property was spacious, clean, and well stocked with all of the essentials for a comfortable stay. We had a small issue with the shower draining but the property manager responded promptly to the concern. The location is absolutely perfect as it is right down the street from Long and Short Sands beach but far enough off of the main strip to avoid traffic. Access to route 1 and 95 makes this property a perfect jumping off point to get out and enjoy the area. Portsmouth is 15, Ogunquit 10, and Durham 25 minutes!

Place was clean. Didn’t like being next to the road of the camping site Ad says sleeps 6. I find that hard to believe. Beds were so small my husband and I had to sleep in separate beds. Very uncomfortable beds. Other than that nice place.

All was great except…

We loved the deck the most and all day sun. Everything else was fine except the sheets on the bed NOT under the window were terribly scratchy and the bed not comfortable so was not for a good sleep the first night . We took the sheets off for the next night. Would be nice to have Kleenex and a few plastic small plastic lunch bags etc. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay very much.
