A stand-alone, stone-built studio with its own spacious patio, under two Eucalyptus trees providing generous shade all day long, with views to Chroussa village and the sea.

Stylishly decorated with antique Greek furnishings, it features traditional accommodation and radiates a homely warmth.

Relax in the hammock while sipping our home-made wine or read a book under the cicada chirp, that’s our definition of Greek summer!

Too hot a day? Ask us to fill up the cistern to revitalize your body.

Eucalyptus Studio is one of the three independent residences of Chroussiano Farmhouse.

Set in an organic orchard, immersed in blossoming geraniums, aging olive trees and the fragrance of citrus fruit, overlooking the Aegean blue, in the pine-forested village of Chroussa, with its echoes of old-time genteel…

The rustic but comfortable interior is accentuated by the stone masonry walls and the wooden ceiling, while the hand-made lamp shades and the mosquito net bed come as stylish highlights.

View the lemon trees through the kitchen window or open the balcony door and gaze over the patio on to the village below while the scent of jasmin and pine fill your senses.

The patio with its big round marble table is the perfect place to enjoy your breakfast or the meals you have prepared.

Peaceful and Private

Lefteris was friendly and helpful. He arranged for a taxi to meet us at the port. A 10L container of drinking water was provided and he even gave us a bottle of wine from is own grapes. The stone built studio is cosy, homely and private. We never tired of the view across the valley. There are no shops or tavernas in the village and car hire is recommended. However, we chose not to hire a car just for the couple of days that we stayed there and we didn't find this to be a problem. The roads were reasonably quiet and made for pleasant walking either up to Taverna Nikolas, further up the valley or down to shops and restaurant Enlefko, and others, in Vari on the coast.

Beauty and Tranquility

This is such a tranquil and soothing place. It was just what I was looking for. As beautiful as the pictures are it is even better in person. The studio is filled with light but it stays wonderfully cool with soft breezes from the cross ventilation. The décor is restrained and tastefully done; many of the antiques are from the family; the fabrics are traditionally handcrafted; and the ceramics are all made by Alexia. The basket of fruits, vegetables and homemade jam that awaited me on arrival was so artfully arranged that at first I didn’t realize it was real. Initially, Lefteris and Alexia gave me plenty of privacy but when it became clear that as a single traveler I didn’t mind the company they took me under their wing, making suggestions about the best beaches, letting me in on a traditional Greek festival at a nearby village, giving me a tour of the farm and generally making me feel completely at home. As a woman traveling alone I felt absolutely safe. As mentioned in the some of the other reviews, you will need a car. But it was so nice to return to the shady avenues of Chroussa after a day of exploring beaches or the bustle of Hermoupolis. I really can’t recommend this place enough, especially if you are looking for a quiet, restorative retreat. Thank you Alexia and Lefteris! I hope to return someday.

Au calme sous les eucalyptus

Havre de paix pour ce studio campagnard de charme. Environnement choisi et propice au repos. Plages et Hermoupolis tout près pour profiter pleinement de l'île. Accueil délicat de nos hôtes avec petit panier de légumes et confiture maison.

Very lovely charming place with a spectacular view

Hello Lefteris Alexia Ermish- our holiday was perfect. The studio is very comfortable- you can find everything you need.We were welcomed with jam olive oil tomatoes and peppers. The windy climate was exactly what we were looking for. Syros is a charming place and we especially would like to recommend (if you like light trekking) to go to Grammata a isolated beach. Thanks again!

Paradiesisch, einfach ein Traum!

Wir hatten den Urlaub der Urlaube überhaupt auf der kleinen verträumten Insel Syros…das „Eucalyptus Studio“ ist perfekt für die Zweisamkeit in schöner abgelegenen Umgebung. Das Steinhaus, liebevoll gebaut und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet lässt keine Wünsche offen. Die herzlichen Vermieter sind jederzeit ansprechbar und geben wertvolle Tipps– das hinterlässt ein sicheres und gutes Gefühl…unter anderem eine vorbereitete Google Maps Karte mit sehenswerten Stränden, super leckeren Tavernen und anderen Highlights👍🏻 Der in unmittelbarer Nähe liegende Wasseraufbereiter kann für ganz kleines Geld genutzt werden (Man erspart sich den Plastikwahn die Schlepperei!) Alles in allem: mehr als gedacht unser absoluter Traum vom Urlaub! Wir haben noch im Urlaub den nächsten dort gebucht und freuen uns schon sehr darauf 😃 Efcharistó

Wunderschön gelegenes Ferienhaus

Das Haus ist wunderschön gelegen mit kurzen Verbindungen zu allen Ecken der Insel. Der großräumige Vorplatz bietet sich hervorragend zum Verweilen an. Alexia und Lefteris sind sehr hilfsbereit und helfen mit allerlei Informationen für alle Arten von Ausflügen. Wir haben die Woche sehr genossen.

Entspannung pur!

Bereits der Kontakt vor dem Urlaub war sehr sympahtisch und unkompliziert. Lefteris holte uns pünktlich vom Hafen in Ermoupoli ab, fuhr uns noch mit Umweg an einem Mininimarket vorbei und überrraschte uns am Haus mit ein paar Leckereien aus eigenem Anbau, allem voran mit einer Flasche hervorragendem Syrah. Später gab es auch noch frische Eier von den Hühnern seines Vater, der in unmittelbarer Nähe wohnt. Das Dorf Chroussa liegt sehr schön und ruhig im Inselinnern. Morgens wurden wir aus der Entfernung vom Gekrähe von Hähnen geweckt und vom Zitschern der Vögel in den Eukalyptusbäumen. Die Terasse bot reichlich Platz zum essen und auspannen und von den leckeren, saftigen Zitronen, die es reichlich im Garten hinter dem Studio gab, konnten wir gar nicht genug bekommen. Lefteris und seine Familie hielten sich sehr im Hintergrund, obwohl sie direkt neben dem Eukalyptus Studio wohnen. Wenn aber Rat und Hilfe gebraucht wurden, war Lefteris schnell zur Stelle. Seine Frau hätten wir auch gerne einmal kennen gelernt. Wenn wir von Ausflügen aus dem betriebsamen und belebten Ermoupolis zurück kamen, empfanden wir die Ruhe und Beschaulichkeit an unserem Urlaubsobjekt als sehr wohltuend. Einzig die Kochmöglichkeit war aus unserer Sicht sehr eingeschränkt aufgrund der vorhandenen Ausstattung, aber es gibt ja unzählig viele und gute Tavernen auf Syros. Wünschenswert wären auch noch ein paar mehr Steckdosen im Studio gewesen. Ansonsten hat uns aber die rustikale und gemütliche Einrichtung sehr gut gefallen. Besonders für die Herzlichkeit von Lefteris möchten wir uns noch einmal aufrichtig bedanken. Liebe von Doris und Peter

Wunderschönes Steinhäuschen mit perfekter Terasse

Ruhiger Ort mit schönem Blick ins Tal…… die Eukalyptus Bäume sind ein Traum um auf der Terrasse zu verweilen. Das Haus wie auch das Interieur haben viele liebevolle Details ….. rundum perfekt …… eigentlich wollten wir gar nicht mehr weg….. Der Vermieter ist sehr Hilfsbereit und hat uns sehr gute Tipps gegeben….. wir hatten einen Mietwagen und die Lage ist so gut das man alles rundherum in 15 - 20 min erreichen konnte….

Beautiful off the beaten track haven!

A wonderfully relaxing and peaceful place to be in set amongst a beautiful little organic farm. The cottage is very small and simple but has everything you need. We loved it and everything about it.

Worth the effort

Small, clean, and efficient. You will need GPS to navigate the isle but it's worth the effort. The host was great. Many thanks to his efforts to make my stay no less than spectacular.

Wunderschöne Lage im Inland mit Blick auf die Ägäis

Wir waren 2 Wochen im Mai in dem kleineren Ferienhaus. Wir hatten uns aufgrund der schönen Fotos bei FeWo- direkt für die Unterkunft und somit auch für die eher unbekannte Insel Syros entschieden. Wir haben es nicht bereut! Die Insel ist wunderschön. Wir hatten uns einen kleines Auto gemietet und konnten somit die komplette Insel erkunden. Wir wurden auf unseren Wanderungen mit herrlichen Ausblicken, blühender Natur und wunderschönen Stränden belohnt. Die Vermieter der Ferienwohnung waren sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Das Haus gemütlich rustikal. Wir können dieses auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen. A.+M

Comfort, Peace and Beauty

This studio made a perfect place to stay on Syros. It is a spacious, airy, stand-alone stone building, one large room furnished in a traditional style, and complete with a kitchen, small dining table, wardrobe and comfortable double bed. Everything necessary to prepare and eat simple meals at home is provided. The bathroom is basic but fully functional. The terrace, with shade trees and a view over farmland, made a lovely place to dine, or just to sit in the late afternoon and evening. I appreciated the personal touches: fresh eggs from their chickens, herbs and potatoes from their garden, their own fig jam and their own olive oil. Terry also pointed me to a good rental car company, and met me at the port when I arrived. Syros itself is an interesting island. I particular enjoyed my trip to the Ano Meria, the small villages and wild lands in the north. Two practical points: 1. If you stay here, you will need a car. This is not a negative, in my opinion, as it would be a shame to come to Syros and see only Ermoupolis. 2. The drive from Ermoupolis to the farm is not too long (perhaps 20 minutes), but it winds about quite a bit. I arrived after dark and was quite appreciative that Terry met me at the port so I could follow him there in my rental car. Highly recommended.

Ein wunderschöner Ort.

Wir waren in dem größeren Haus, für 2 Wochen und völlig allein. Es war wunderschön! Ein Ort für alle, die nicht viel brauchen, ausser Natur, Ruhe und Entspannung. Wir waren überrascht wie schön Syros ist. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Danke an die sehr sehr lieben und herzlichen Gastgeber. Wir haben uns wirklich wohl gefühlt. Danke! ;-)

Great mini retreat, away from it all...

My husband and I stayed here during the Festival of the Aegean in 2014 and the beautiful property located in the hills of Chroussa was within easy access by rental car from Ermoupolis - about a 20 min. drive. The one room studio felt spacious, it had everything we needed; a small kitchen, clean bathroom with shower, WiFi, air conditioning, and we loved sitting on the large terrace under the eucalyptus trees. Originally a wine storage unit, the property has been lovingly remodeled into a mini retreat with a traditional feel. Everything is stone and tile with antique furnishings. The owners were absolutely wonderful; they met us at the ferry boat and guided us to the property which is hard to find on a map. Every day we would find little "surprises" ...some lemons, local sweets, etc. There is a small ("tiny") swimming pool which we did not use, in the distance you can see the Mediterranean and the closest beach is about 10 minutes away. I would recommend a rental car if you stay here. We had a fantastic stay and would love to return one day soon...
