Please do not throw hygienic items into the toilet, as we are on a septic system.
The wood stove is off-limits, as it is not yet functional. Please do not attempt to use it.
Please be aware that you are in a wooded area. Do not start any open fires, as we are at risk of forest fires.
WINTER: In attempt to minimize utility usage during vacant periods, we turn the heat down in the cottage between guests. When you arrive, you will be able to set the heat to your desired temperature, but please prepare for a bit of a `warm-up period`, as it takes about 30 minutes-1 hour for the place to heat up.
Please note that the road and driveway is plowed in the winter. We have a company in place who takes care of these things, but guaranteeing a time can be challenging.
Walkways and steps are only shovelled during turnovers. If you need to shovel outside of these services, there is shovel on site for your use.
As with most locations in nature, it is possible you will encounter insects. May is black-fly season. They seem to be no issue after dark, but can be an annoyance during the day. We will not provide refunds for anything insect-related. Airbnb`s Community Policy fosters respect, inclusivity, and safety. We uphold all of this, and prohibit hate speech, discrimination, and offensive behaviour at our property. We strive to create safe and welcoming spaces for our guests and the neighbouring community.
There is a $100 charge for each unauthorized guest on the property.
We will enforce a $500 fine if you smoke anywhere indoors. This also applies to marijuana.
Checkout is at 10 a.m. to allow adequate time for cleaning. For a late checkout, we require 24 hours notice, and a fee of $25/hour applies.
Guests misusing the property for parties, events, prostitution, causing disturbances, or damaging the property will be fined $500. Additional charges will apply for cleaning, compensation for any cancelled bookings, and replacement of damaged items
