Summary:

Driftwood Cottage is a sunny, dog-friendly cottage that is sure to become a favorite. Located on the Moclips Flats, just across from the beach, it has easy access to miles of shoreline. The beach access path is just two houses to the south, clearly marked. The kitchen is open to the living area, with a cozy dining nook tucked in the corner. The living room has a comfortable sleeper sofa. It is from this room that you will enjoy your beach and ocean views beckoning you!



The Space:

There is a television with Blue-ray DVD player (bring your favorite movies), as well as Hulu and NetFlix. The bedrooms both offer full sized beds. Sit on the front porch and enjoy the gentle sea breezes as you sip your favorite beverage. There is a spacious backyard for the youngsters to play in as they anticipate their next trip to the beach.



What's nearby:

Enjoy a quick drive down to Ocean Shores. Here you will find the Quinault Casino, or venture further into Ocean Shores and you will find galleries and shopping. In the summer months, you will find horseback riding on the beach. Stop by the Museum of the North Beach, too! For stays longer than a couple of days, try taking a day trip to Westport Winery. Stroll their many gardens, with amazing sculptures created by very talented local artists. You won't be disappointed. Suggested road trips would include a scenic 40-minute drive to the Quinault Rain Forest. Here you can enjoy a relaxing drive around Lake Quinault, or walk any of the many trails for all ages and capabilities. The trails are well marked and nicely groomed.

This is a cute little cottage and comes with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The interior walls are painted a cheery yellow and the decor is beach oriented. The kitchen is well stocked with all of the necessities- pots, pans, mixing bowls, plates, glasses, mugs, cutlery and cooking utensils. All appliances work great, except the DVD player and TV won't connect (even though they individually work and are plugged in properly) so the DVD collection is unwatchable. We liked that board games are available. You get a small view of the ocean, which is across the street. Beach access is about a 2 minute walk. Cleanliness is the one area in which there is room for improvement. At first glance, the place looks fine, but upon closer inspection heavy dust and grime missed by the cleaner can easily be seen. The top of the the dvd shelf is covered in dust as well as the faux flower arrangement. The interior of the front door is pretty filthy too. The window tracks and screen frames are coated in mildew and dirt. The crevices of the molding along the base of the shower stall are filled with sand. Even the info binder is sticky. While this is not an expensive rental, cleanliness is still important. The beds, sinks, shower, and furniture appeared clean, but once you see that other cleaning details have been overlooked it does not inspire confidence that anything else has been properly cleaned. Overall, a great place. Just step up the cleaning a notch.

Everything was good with the exception of the door lock is very difficult to operate. An outdoor table would be a nice addition. Kitchen is very functional and all appliances worked properly. I would certainly stay on that property again. Water heater sprung a small leak, which I reported but no one came to fix it. We were able to manage it by wrapping towels around the leak, no big deal.

The front door was just really hard to open and it didn't stay shut very well. We used the side door and that worked better. The kitchen was great, clean rooms and bathroom, plenty of towels. Comfortable beds and pillows.

The property location is great! Easy walk to the beach and property is decently maintained. The bathroom could use a deep clean, (ceilings and trim around the shower need detailed), the gas fireplace added a nice bit of ambiance for the chilly evenings. Proximity to the small store is convenient. The door lock is pretty wonky... you need to push in the key, and the housing is really loose, but eventually we figured it out. The kitchen has most of the necessary amenities. Check out time seems a bit early, but because we had plans it fit our schedule.

although we saw that internet access could be intermittent, that is TOTALLY different from being without access for 3 days. I had to go outside to make phone calls or texts. When someone called, I could hear them but they could not hear me. We left early.
